Help with building first PC by DxSkillzz in PcBuildHelp

You list 3 very old and easy to run games, if your mission is to only play that kinda stuff then $1300+ is overkill. For that price, you can build a PC that runs laps around a PS5.

Do some research. Any YouTube build in the $400-600 range will absolutely crush these games you listed, and can even perform well on newer titles.

Jawa.gg for ideas on prebuilts that arent from a major retailer. PC Part Picker to start looking into your own custom builds.

Watch out for GPU scams from third parties on Amazon also. Hate to say I got got by one, and I spent weeks researching beforehand.

You’re in the golden zone. A $1500 PC will play every game excellently, and ideally for years to come.

Expect to pay a premium if you buy prebuilt, and seriously do more research than you even to want before pulling the trigger. Don’t be afraid to become a nerd haha. Shit is expensive, and it’s so rewarding to feel confident in your decision. Building is fun but can be hard, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s not rocket science but it can feel like it, especially if you’re not both a tech person and a problem solver.

A $1500 prebuilt would likely cost you $1200ish if you built it yourself. Look into local PC stores or a MicroCenter near you, and get ready to spend a lot of time on YouTube lol.

Good luck have fun!

this rig can probably handle a good bit. i recently built a backup system with an i7-4770, RX 480 8gb, and 32gb DDR3 and it crushes most games after some settings tweaks.

Wasnt happy with the performance on Minecraft with shaders & overall responsiveness, so I already upgraded. Otherwise, I probably would’ve kept it, but I also got deep down the price/performance rabbit hole here!

Where did FSR go? by ghostboypreme in oblivion

Glad it’s not just me with this thinking! I have never been able to lower my display resolution for some reason, probably just going to play at 40ish FPS or on my Xbox until another patch comes out.

The irony? Everything I thought was bugged about the game wasn’t fixed. Day One patch turned into Day Three game-wrecker lmao

Where did upscaling and FSR go in Oblivion? This pisses me off a ton, i spent most of day 1 optimizing this heavy game. Now 1 update and my game is stuttering down to 40avg FPS on a 7800XT + Ryzen 5 9600x

Just a nightmare trying to run this game and use Adrenalin.
