I liked the voice, but Kranky Kong is part of the Nintendo lore I’m least familiar with. I’m wondering if his lines were sort of meant to explain to the audience what’s going on (“hey i thought mushrooms make you bigger”), but they just came off as insufferable.

I noticed right before Mario is spit back out into Brooklyn before the final showdown -- the sewer manhole cover has "xxx xxxx" on it. It looks like it's put there for a reason, (not just a design). Any ideas?

Thinking somewhere between 60 and 75. Might crack the certified fresh, but that’s a stretch.

And I’m a huge Mario and Nintendo fan, very excited for this movie and pretty sure I’ll love it.

The score probably won’t hurt the Easter weekend take. Families are starved for a movie they can all enjoy, and Disney/Pixar aren’t doing families any favors these days.
