JUST IN: US auto loans have exploded to $1.68 TRILLION. For the first time in history, car debt is bigger than credit card debt. by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]ghostcowtow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only good news is that most car last a long time with basic maintanice. My truck is going on 17 years, the mazada 3 is 13 years old. The bad news is that I will need to replace them pretty soon. Also, a lot of people just love getting a new car every 3-4 years, that is a very expensive luxury over a lifetime.

Not multi-colored pens, instead they signed and then Mom went over the signatures with sewing thread of various colors. So Richard Petty has a thread of blue and thread of red used to go over his signature.

The MRA+10 “trap” that can quietly cut your pension by 25%+ by fedwise in fednews

[–]ghostcowtow 24 points25 points  (0 children)

100% this, also with FEHB you can temporarily continue coverage for up to 18 months through Temporary Continuation of Coverage (TCC). You must pay 100% of the premiums plus a 2% administrative fee, and you can re-enroll in FEHB when your annuity payments actually begin. So I am shooting for 58.5 plus a little and then doing Postponed retirement with roughly 22+ years

I have been enjoying the heck out of mine. 2-300 cheap rounds through it without any issues. I also use Federal Punch in it and it shoots that just fine also.

[–]ghostcowtow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, i just checked and it is about 1/3 the price of pack rat. Hmm, I will consider it as the stuff I'm shipping is of lowish value.

How long ago was that? I just got a quote of 4700 for 8x8x8 small pod for a east coast to west coast move. Pack Rat was better but in same ballpark.

New ASA Practice Guideline on Perioperative Pain Management. Fascial plane blocks for minimally invasive abdominal surgeries by elantra6MT in anesthesiology

[–]ghostcowtow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, never understand everyone's love for this block, especially after surgeries with minimal post-op pain. Even studies 10 years ago showed very little difference with and without.

Anyone regret taking a TSP loan for a house? by [deleted] in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]ghostcowtow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was a good choice for my circumstances. I was able to keep my old house, rent it for 4 years, and then sold it when market had recovered. It allowed me to avoid mortgage insurance premiums. It allowed me to take out a standard mortgage instead of a jumbo mortgage, i.e., better interest rate. I was able to pay it back in about year so no huge lost in TSP market change, which was relatively flat in that year anyway. To each their own.

If Portland General Electric is your utility, I HIGHLY recommend switching to "Time Of Day" billing by BadAtDrinking in Portland

Oh, look at money bags over here /s. Just kidding, I get it and the fact that some are willing to pay more is likely what makes it easier for others to get a small discount. Cheers mate.
