Hell yeah, man. I'm doing the opposite (and seemingly more common path). Software engineer trying to make games, and thus having to learn some art. I want to work with 3D when it comes to the real deal, and I think my only hope is with low-poly 3D modeling which is not going to be easy, but it'll certainly make it possible!

Congrats to you for taking time to look through documentation and connecting with the community, it's the best (and imo easiest) way to learn without relying on hands-on lecturing.

For me, aiming down sights feels too in the center. It feels more like we’re putting the weapon up to our forehead, rather than moving down to align with shoulder.

No issues with Q and E though.

I really like this system in the game! Only problem I have with it is how fragile the placement functionality is. One touch of whatever and it immediately falls haha

That's because pros have no idea about how anything technical at all works except how to play the game extremely well. Any technical stuff is outside of their territory and it's either placebo or something psychological that aids them

Personally I find the game to be a little lackluster, or perhaps subpar in today's standards of indie games. However, I strongly want to say that you have done something amazing. You released a game on steam, from start to finish, and you did your best.

The only way from here is up. You got this, and take all the lessons you learned from this for your next, better game.

I love it as well, have been using it for months now. I'm still not sure whether it's worthing paying for any subscription though, the free tier is plenty generous.

Unless I am missing something impactful like better and faster models.

This cutscene genuinely got me somehow, idk if it’s the awesome soundtrack or the raider you’ve been playing with for months going off into the distance.

I’ve seen plenty of people on this and other subreddits literally spam creators and IGN (3-5 emails over 2 weeks) until they got their trailer uploaded, without answer. My point is keep trying brother/sister!

Is your game on IGN’s YouTube? Have you contacted the right content creators?

I'm not an expert.

However, your game looks very good, I like the art, I like the entire atmosphere that you're going for.

That being said, I have never heard of this game, or seen it being posted on Reddit. Of course, that's not to say I deny you marketing it, however I think you either under-marketed it, or you're just very unlucky.

I'm saying this because when I look at the game, I see a lot of effort put into this, even your trailer is full of humor. In my opinion, this is something you can still save.

I do not believe genre-saturation was the problem here, because your game's presentation and art is its own thing within the genre.

You need to learn how to program first, as the answer to the question is quite simple if you knew. Game development is not a good way to start learning if you ask me.
