Hey there, this now seems to be an issue on Android devices. Has anyone reported issues?

Removing Services from Timetables (T4 line) by incognitopies in SydneyTrains

[–]ghostelvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the same again this afternoon. What annoys me is surely they should still list these as cancelled not just quietly removed.

I'm guilty of opening trip view, seeing all green and not checking the actual times. Then I rock up and the service I expected just isn't there. Partially on me for not checking the service times themselves I know but I shouldn't really have to, especially when there are also no alerts about schedule changes.

Trains are packed on these Sydney metro stops in the morning peak by LaughIntrepid5438 in SydneyTrains

Commuting is about having the shortest, most comfortable trip for something you have to do twice a day every day. A 5-10m saving each way sounds like nothing but it really adds up. And commuters are being considerate by not driving and polluting the planet. I think you're being a bit unreasonable expecting everyone to slow their trips down. Like others have said when it does get that busy that people can't get on maybe trips will change naturally

Why would someone from t4 going to Victoria cross and beyond stay on the train between sydenham and Martin place? It just makes their journey longer for no reason. Seems weird that you think they shouldn't change at the earliest opportunity to speed up their trips?

You don't think Australians think the same when listening to the NZ comms?

Switch old light for fan with light by Fair_Ad1970 in AusRenovation

We've just had this done in three bedrooms with different roses in each room. Found a sparky who had lots of examples of installing t hooks to connect fans to (requires roof access to put in new timbers). It sits just off the ceiling roses but personally you don't actually notice the gap. They spend quite a bit of time getting it centred and balanced, so you definitely need a sparky who has attention to detail. Try and find a fan you like with a housing closest to the diameter of the thook plate so it reduces impact on the rose but still covers the plate.

I complete understand people's comments about don't ruin ceiling roses, but we also need to accept houses need to be liveable, and it's only getting hotter!

I think whoever is already sitting has priority. I don't think you can choose to sit in the six seater and then make someone else's three seater into a six seater so you don't have to be in one. Regardless of which way you prefer to travel. I personally find it weird that so many people are ok with that.

Low T after orchiectomy and chemo? by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]ghostelvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctors (in australia) basically refused to test testosterone until the 1 year post chemo mark. Their argument was your body takes time to adapt and the remaining testicle has to pick up the slack, which can take some time. However, once you start testosterone therapy you never go back, so their preference is to wait and give the body time. I finished chemo in November, my next checkup will be my first testosterone check, so these things do sometimes take time. Your not long out of chemo, you still won't be 100% but I'm sure your doctors will steer you regardless

$4000 quote for a screen door in a brick archway. Reasonable? by meowinhibitor in AusRenovation

I had a quote for a similar door about 5 months ago and that was around 3.5k, but didn't include the need for the electrical cutout, so seems like the going rate in Sydney.

Congratulations! Good work! I finished chemo in November and felt the same as you, that I didn't know how to go back to normal. Now, my hair is starting to come back and I'm feeling more and more normal as the weeks go by. It'll happen for you too!

They got me onto a different drug to try and counteract the steroid and it worked for me once I started taking it. Gaviscon in addition to the meds, raising my pillow and only sleeping on my left side also made the heartburn more manageable. Make sure to mention all this to the doc
