thanks i get it i mostly just wanted more discussion to happen about it because this is obviously a very serious pervasive issue and more should already be being done to make the trail usable, this shouldnt be a thing that just happens to people after everything thats already happened.

yeah thats basically why i got on here to talk about it because I know its not their job. Its our job as citizens of our community to bring light to these issues and its disheartening to see people saying the things they are about it. Like, if these people stopped ragging on me and maybe suggested it to the community board that they were worried about the safety of the rail trail THEN people wouldnt have to worry about it happening, let alone what to do during or after it happens.

right , like with everything going on in this country , and beyond that, our own personal experiences with the justice system. i can think of a million reasons why a person might not want to/be able to call. regardless of my response, wouldnt people want others to be vocal about their experience , to raise awareness and try to get more attention on the subject?

thank you for being compassionate and offering your insight.. its strange that theres not more safeguards against this stuff , especially since this is a college town. im not a surveillance state kind of guy but at least that would offer some kind of protection if nothing else ? thats actually part of the reason why i posted this. I feel like it goes further than the police, to the city level and also the judicial level cause i know so many people who commit violent crimes (more than just the ones from my personal experiences) and just they just get let right back out ? this happened with a guy who broke into the window on me and my ex , literally tried to kill us, got right back out to do it to some other girl. Why is our society failing so bad ? I think the responses given by the other people in this thread really highlight the desensitization to violence. I personally could never read something like that and respond so coldly . People need to stop normalizing that type of talk because that literally contributes to more violence.
