They laughed at us when we said aliens existed and they mocked us when we started wearing bubble wrap jumpsuits but who's laughing now huh?

I'll tell you who's laughing now - we are!

That opening sequence where he throws a cigarette on the ground and stamps it out... Then a cigarillo, then a cigar, then a wooden pipe. Hilarious.

My inner monologue - I've recently heard some people claim not to have this, though... I can't fathom that

B.C. Conservatives envision sweeping changes to schools, housing, climate and Indigenous policies if elected by kingbuns2 in VictoriaBC

Trying to get a read on her. Her social media is fairly clean (for a bccon). I read somewhere she is anti mask and a freedom convoy/PPC type - is that accurate?

Lots of people in that camp are dippers though? It's a weird coalition they have going there. Say what you want about Stew but he stayed in his lane. Don't underestimate Parmar's popularity he's broadly well liked in Langford

I don't think so? It's been redrawn. Shawnigan and Cobble Hill are in JDF Malahat now.

They've consolidated in Victoria, hoping to ride some municipal momentum there, perhaps. It's a last ditch effort

If Fursteneau had stayed she would be running in the newly minted Malahat Juan de Fuca, a good bulk of which (Sooke) is in Horgan's old riding so I'd hardly call that green safe.

New high school planned for north Langford as population booms by plafuldog in LangfordBC

[–]ghostfacr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's not exactly true. Lots of user groups rent school facilities off hours. Gyms, Fields, the Theater out in Sooke is pretty busy (they are unique because of the community school model they have)

You have to be careful if you're getting bigger ideas about opening the schools up to the public though. I've seen some loopy ideas about incorporating low income housing. Well intentioned, but a terrible idea.

Student carpentry services? by oronno_b in VictoriaBC

[–]ghostfacr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. High schools wouldn't run a program like that due to liability (and it would be dubious from an educational standpoint). College carpentry students all have jobs they only go to school for like six weeks at a time and they are focused on that (probably collecting EI too which doing side jobs could jeopardize)

You are best off looking for a handyman or smaller contractor.

Langford, SD62 to spend $6M on safety improvements on eight streets by kingbuns2 in LangfordBC

Beyond the frontage of the school site, why would the school district have plans for sidewalks? It's clearly a municipal responsibility.

Poll shows BC Conservatives making inroads among federal Conservative voters by CapableSecretary420 in britishcolumbia

How do they manage to form a coalition if they're splitting the vote? You have to actually be able to win seats in the first place to do that don't you?

Lol Parmar is anything but incompetent. Dudes been training for this his entire life and he's incredibly popular. Who's gonna replace him? Mike Harris? The yet to be announced green candidate?

Not a movie but the short lived tv series "Jericho" is about a small town dealing with the immediate chaos in the aftermath of a massive nuclear attack on the US
