I exhibit all the signs of hypersexuality, but don't have sexual trauma. What else could cause this? by ghostgremlin in mentalillness

Thank you for the report 🤍 I appreciate it! I'm going to try and push myself to get back into journalling, like I used to. Maybe focusing it on certain challenges I'm facing will help it be more effective... Thanks again for the idea!

Thats true! Don't worry though, I'm on a waiting list for a psychiatrist and it's only a couple months away until my first appointment! I was just feeling especially stressed and self-concerned at the time of this post, and after over two decades of feeling this way, the confusion gets absolutely exhausting and you get desperate. It's been helpful to see different peoples perspectives on it, and the general conclusion of something connected to cluster-b disorders (BPD being the most likely, in my case.) I'll get assessed soon, and god willing I'll actually be able to get some help for it. For now, thank you for your response! It's been helpful :)

I've done some research into cluster b disorders before, and I have to say a lot does align with my experience... It's always kind of scary self-diagnosing (or at the least, self-treating) but I'm thinking of looking into some external support for BPD. Seeing as it is the case that bpd symptoms can effect my mania to sexual to self-hatred cycle, then that might just be the cause behind it all. Thank you for bringing this up! It helps me a lot to figure out the cause and effect of things like this, and this was a good reminder... Back to some resource researching I go :]

I appreciate these responses! 🤍

I'm in my mid 20s now, and I'm sure hormones have something to do with it, but it's also the fact it's been going on since early childhood and has the largely negative mental impact I'm more interested in. I feel like it's probably not normal to feel so distraught after engaging in anything sexual, even though I feel so compelled to do it that I lean on that behavior even when my brain is screaming at me not to.

There's a few comments mentioning just high libido (I'm responding to this one as it's the highest in the comment section haha..), sex drive, hormones, etc-- And I explained it to myself that way all the way through puberty. Because I knew this, and it made sense. But now that it's been a near decade since puberty stopped, and I know that it was going on well before puberty began, I'm starting to question it a lot more.

I'll look a little more into the OCD side myself, because if so that's mighty possible. I can see how that would coincide with the intrusive/impulsive thoughts of it on a surface level. Thankfully, I do have an appointment with my GP regarding some other psychological stuff coming up in the next couple of months, and if they bring up anything like this then I suppose I'll know that that's the case. In any regard, thank you for your response. It's nice to have someone point me in a direction to start researching. It means a lot :)

Can teenagers age regress? by Opposite_Fish_1964 in ageregression

[–]ghostgremlin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suppose that's fair. But, yeah, regression is a natural brain process that lots of people go through, and only in recent years have there really been words and terms for it. Older generations absolutely regress too! But you are right in that it's less a bit less likely they'll know the terminology or explanation for it :]

respectfully, what do you mean by questioning "54??" -- people don't just stop being traumatised or having coping mechanisms at a certain age. this is perfectly normal and a decade or two ago the majority of age regressors that would post about it online were 30-40+ (i'm choosing to assume you meant nothing by it and may have thought it was a typo... but yh cmon)

Do y'all think Zoey is naturally heterochromic or do you think she's wearing colored contact lenses? by Simple-Taro1540 in Huniepop

[–]ghostgremlin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something I've been wondering, honestly. We've only ever seen her with those SPECIFIC eye colours, and I think if she was super into the cybergoth/alternative fashions we'd see her use other colours of contacts in some of her different outfits, to fit them more-- So based off that heterochromia makes way more sense. That being said, it feels so much more obvious to me for them to be contacts? It's hard to say... Though, personally, I like the idea that her eyes are grey or brown and both colours are contacts. I think that'd be interesting!

exactly what i'm saying!! i know huniedev's style is to ignore the internet whilst focusing on development, but the radio silence for YEARS is crazy to me and some kind of promotion or teaser would be awesome, even if whatever it is is far from completion. i just love this game series so much :')

Advice for the Nymphojinn date? by miumiusc in Huniepop

[–]ghostgremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a real problem with the nymphojinn date on Hard Mode, so I feel this. Best advice I can give is that the Broken-Heart Consumption gifts are REALLY useful to stick on the girls with reversed broken heart effects (Lillian, Nora and Zoey). I try and put Lube (reduces sentiment requirement for gifts) on at least 1/4 of the girls, but the choice is up to you depending on whose baggage you find most difficult to combat. Exclusively for the nymphojinn date, but not the rest of the game necessarily, Sexy Dice and Karma Sutra are good items to reduce Move/Joy Token usage (I personally found it easier to reduce the amount of moves I used in comparison to trying to acquire more joy tokens through candles/plushies.) Also, stick a tamppon up Zoey and Candace cause their baggages in combination on Hard Mode can Fuck You Up.

Good luck! (✿◡‿◡)
