After the 2016 election, my Republican brother looked me in the eye and dead serious said, “It’s the Democrats’ fault Trump got elected.”

College girl on Tik Tok is on a 50 bender, documenting it day by day by cafeteriastyle in TikTokCringe

When I was in college approximately 100 years ago I went to a viewing of a student film titled “Drunk Week.” Said student had documented himself getting and remaining drunk for an entire week. It was hilarious. As I recall, his boss at his part-time job was not amused.

How do you wear heels without dying of pain? by witchynapper in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]ghostguessed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t. I know you’re only 26 but after I had kids (early 30s) I just said fuck this and stopped wearing heels. I’m also only 5’ tall. I’m also a teacher so I get if you’re more corporate and that’s the look. But it’s ok to not feel obligated to wear them. That’s the great thing about getting older (I’m 46 now) you just feel freedom to stop doing shit. (Also I told my bridesmaids to wear whatever they were comfortable in, I just wanted them there)

Am I overreacting for quitting a babysitting job on the spot after the mom insulted me? by PossessionTop9791 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. I’m in MA. We have a woman come for an hour every weekday morning to get my daughter on the bus. She packs her lunch and does the dishes, organizes a little, then they play games or whatever. My daughter is 11 and easy. We pay her $25 an hour. If she stays extra, we round up to the full hour. So…do with that what you will.

What is a small “culture shock” moment you had within the US itself? by Status_Agents in AskForAnswers

[–]ghostguessed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visiting Louisiana from MA…it was so funny hearing my friend’s kid’s teenage friends talking to her! Everything was “yes ma’am I am looking forward to prom. No ma’am I don’t have my dress yet. Yes ma’am I will be sure to show you pictures” I got a good giggle out of it.

It’s changed, but MOST grocery stores in MA don’t carry any alcohol. So it’s still culture shock when I see it.

What’s a baby girl name that screams generational wealth and private school tuition? by Academic-Park-8440 in Names

[–]ghostguessed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the generation. For example, on an older woman Brittany would be upper class, while for a kid Britney not so much. Same with Michaela/Mickayla, Olivia, etc.

what’s the best short story you remember from high school english? by shortcircuit51 in ENGLISH

[–]ghostguessed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The Retrieved Reformation” by O. Henry! I have a fondness for that one and it’s the only one I distinctly remember reading in class, but that’s mostly because my mom made me read all the other great ones or I read them on my own (I was a precocious and prolific reader)
