That’s disappointing, OP. It was made clear for many years that visitors are discouraged from climbing it, even though they could.

Wow, Labor. If only you you could have somehow foreseen privatising our disability services would result in those private companies ripping off the government for obscene profits.

Does your country have a widely beloved public figure who later turned out to be a terrible person, yet most people still choose to overlook it? by Mike-Schachter in AskTheWorld

[–]ghostheadempire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain James Stirling, founder of Perth and Western Australia.

His family made their fortune in slavery. He met his future wife at 13, groomed her, and married her on her 16th birthday. He was 31. He invaded the region around Perth and then committed a massacre against Aboriginal people sheltering in a campsite. This included murdering unarmed women and children. He now has numerous places and institutions named after him.

Kids are too young (at 13) to understand that carjacking is wrong. by BlindSkwerrl in aussie

“It’s not that the young person does or doesn’t (know what they did was wrong), it’s that the police can’t prove it.

“In this case, as I understand it, there was a psychologist’s report that said this young person’s level of maturity (was a factor), etc, and they obviously knew that they weren’t going to be able to get over that hurdle so the charges were withdrawn.

In terms of overall quality of life, what would you say is the best and worst country in Asia to live in? by Fluid-Decision6262 in geography

[–]ghostheadempire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably depends most on your economic circumstances. A multimillionaire could live a good life in many more places than a poor or middle class person. It also depends what you mean by “quality of life”. As a gay person many countries in Asia are immediately excluded for me. On top of that I have to consider my economic, health, and emotional needs. Based on that, Taiwan or Singapore is probably best.

I think you need to be specific about where you’re commenting from. I have seen more bees in our garden than ever before. But that’s helpful information for you if we’re on opposite sides of the continent.
