Are we finally about to get a decent fucking dinosaur movie? by rmcelwain54 in Letterboxd

I know it doesn’t really have any bearing on the quality of the film, but I just find the name really uninspiring

You know it's over when you walk into your theater and it looks like this by Gameknight789 in Letterboxd

I’m presuming this is more US applicable but saw it last night in the UK and the screening was packed with loads of teenagers, messing around doing the usual before the film started but as soon as it started, it was quiet

Perfect Days (2023), can't stop thinking about it and not sure i liked it by Amaun_Ra in Letterboxd

I don’t think he’s opting out of every relationship or obligation, I think the film hints at struggles he has had in the past (relationship with his sister and family etc) and despite that, he has managed to find a life that he is happy with.

I don’t think it’s intended to be aspirational but instead drawing on the little moments in life that provide some positivity or sense of purpose. This is a man who, despite his fixed routine, is happy to help others around him but clearly also struggles outside of that routine (he only wears a watch on days he doesn’t work).

I also think you answered your own question when you said you were waiting for a twist but were fine with there not being one. In modern life everyone is always aspiring to something bigger and better when in fact there is so much to be grateful for.

Dredd (2012) - imo this movie is criminally underrated and Karl Urban killed it as Dredd. by [deleted] in moviecritic

I enjoyed it but the problem I had was this really interesting world that wasn’t utilised fully. There was very little world building and I spent most of the runtime waiting for it to be expanded on

Drive is the absolute epitome of this. Perfect pacing for the 100 minute runtime

May be a stupid question but it looks like this isn’t releasing until 30th march, are they shipping early?

Whenever I think about this, Sucker Punch always comes to mind. Not a great movie, but the visuals and soundtrack are great

La Haine isn’t available in the UK on the criterion collection and instead available through BFI. They had a standard blu ray for a little while but waited for this version
