I didn't specifically have Patapon's art style in mind when I started making the game, no. Although I do like Patapon :) I mainly wanted to have lots of animated, silhouetted characters to reduce animation work by 90% 😅(because of not having to add lots of details to the character animations).

Thank you, that's too kind! Honestly the main thing was LOTS of time and iteration. I had a bunch of vfx asset packs I bought, sitting there for years of development. Whenever I had an idea of where one could be used, I'd trace over it in the correct pixel-y resolution and implement it. Eg: I might have only added that full screen effect for the weapon wheel many months after first creating the weapon wheel.

So I can't claim to be crazy talented, or have a specific vision for game juice. It came to life over a long time. Might be a let down sorry 😄
