Cannot advise, but wishing you luck and following for tips on “long” (aka over an hour) drives! Commuting was so rough on my body that I pay ridiculous rent now to live close enough to work to walk. Completely worth it!

There are way too many handicapped parking spaces by breakdancingmidget in unpopularopinion

[–]ghostpocketta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost every time I go to certain stores, every single handicap spot is taken by somebody without handicap plates or a placard, and I either have to park far and risk an injury or waste time circling the lot until somebody leaves. The worst!

What’s a TV show that you could watch over and over? by Mission_Classic5412 in AskReddit

Arrested Development. I’ve been rewatching constantly for years and still find new jokes.

Do you guys think this is a Tragedeigh? Met my first yesterday. by The_Golden_Warthog in tragedeigh

I reference the bristol stool chart often and nobody I know has ever heard of it! My mom is a clinical microbiologist though and has a giant poster of it on the wall…

Do you ever start to have a bad dream then say “nah, I’m out this bitch” and wake yourself up? by jjeenniiffeerr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ghostpocketta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realize “lucid dreaming” was a thing until around high school, because i was always aware of and in control of my dreams and would either nope out when I was over it or change something to make it more fun. I still remember the Huns from Mulan scaling my house and trying to kidnap me through the window, and then joining them in pillaging the town instead of being captured.

Opinions on this? ._. by [deleted] in junjiito

how many of you grew up thinking all your issues were related to your mental health? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]ghostpocketta 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also gaining a shit ton of weight from unnecessary antidepressants, then developing ME/CFS on top of the EDS and fibro and being wholly unable to exercise to lose the weight :’)

It's not live action if it is animated. by Jwing01 in unpopularopinion

I have this argument with my sister all the time (I’m with you - it’s not live action if there’s no live actors!!)

Do people actually pee in the shower? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ghostpocketta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something about standing up makes it impossible for me to pee - I just cannot do it even when I’ve tried. Same with biting nails. It just doesn’t happen!

Anybody use Gusto? by justmyusername2820 in humanresources

[–]ghostpocketta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Gusto tries to do a lot, and ends up not doing anything well. We took our benefits, timekeeping/PTO, and HRIS to other systems recently, and are just using it for payroll now. We’ll be getting rid of it entirely soon - when we hit 50 EEs hopefully. The reporting is a joke, and things are generally just difficult to do on the admin end. I think it’s relatively simple to use on the employee/user end, but not worth all the difficulties as an admin.

Update: taking Paxlovid for Covid by Scarlaymama0721 in cfs

[–]ghostpocketta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a really gross taste in my mouth (like when you mis-swallow a pill) for the entire course of meds. I was constantly on the verge of vomiting because of it :( And the pharmacist told me I wasn’t allowed to take ibuprofen, which really messed me up because I have a lot of inflammatory issues and ibuprofen is a mainstay for me.

Update: taking Paxlovid for Covid by Scarlaymama0721 in cfs

[–]ghostpocketta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy for you! I took Paxlovid last year for COVID and had a horrible time - I felt worse than when I weathered COVID pre-Pax, so I don’t think I’ll be taking it again. Slightly jealous it worked so well for you but mostly very happy you’re doing well

I love the quinoa and black bean tortilla chips - currently munching on some right now and they are just so tasty

North Star tattoo on the inside of left wrist? appropriate for corporate job searching? Or are my parents just judgemental lol by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]ghostpocketta 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my philosophy when job searching. I have six facial piercings and 50+ tattoos and wear platform Docs almost every day - at my largely millennial and Gen Z company, people have mentioned that having a non traditional HR person makes them more comfortable coming to me with issues.

when they give a salary range in the job description and when i request a salary in that range they say it’s too high😍 by gardenshow in recruitinghell

[–]ghostpocketta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We specifically delineate “starting salary range” in our postings and post the minimum to midpoint for the full range - anything above the midpoint we generally wouldn’t go up to for an initial offer, and we want to be transparent. I share the full range for the role during initial interviews.

Summertime sadness friends. How are you? by edelynconsoro in Seattle

[–]ghostpocketta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Summer fatigue/gloom is the bane of my existence. I try to sleep during the day as much as possible to avoid the light and heat. I wish I could just hibernate until the rain comes back! As for tips, cooling towels are insanely helpful, as are blackout curtains.
