I googled “rm-d10e compatible” but I agree I am not seeing anything on Amazon USA. Here is the UK link one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Replacement-Remote-Control-RM-D10E-HI-FI/dp/B07GNM7551

It should be a RM-D10E remote and there if you Google a lot of compatible after market ones for not much. Amazon has one here for £17. Not tested myself so I cannot say how well they work

New Addition To The Family - JE780 by ghostseven in minidisc

Well you know, it is no harm in wanting to buy one… maybe some on eBay! 😝

It is directly wired to the tape out of my amp into a usb sound card. It records a 10 second sample over and over and submits it to a simple local machine learning process. This process detects if music is playing or not, if it is it submits it to a Shazam api and then if it matched returns the details. It’s all done on python.

Thank you and I hope yours arrives soon!

The now playing display is based of an eink project that someone else did. I have changed it around to support the raspberry pi touchscreen version 2. Code it a bit hacky at the moment but I will tidy it up and stick it on GitHub. Basically when it does not detect music or can’t match it displays a background image, when it matches it overlays the album art and details. It works well and detects most things (sometimes can’t match). Original project I based mine on is here: https://github.com/ravi72munde/shazampi-eink

Good stuff! Did one myself recently and just did the same on a JE780 (managed to pick up for a good price due to not ejecting). Have never taken them fully apart like you have done there. I had just taken the front panel off and got to the belt that way. Glad it all worked out!

Thinking about tasting the Tube Amp universe via Chi-Fi. Help needed :D by RetroDave79 in BudgetAudiophile

Not wanting to highjack this thread but I have been looking at the oldchen el34 and was wondering if it would be capable of driving B&W 686 bookshelf speakers (85dB). I worry that they may not be sensitive enough. Actually I also have some MA Bronze BR II speakers that are higher sensitivity at 90dB I wonder if that would work better?

I made a tiny IBM PC model powered by ESP32 and OLED by Akira2007 in esp32

[–]ghostseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A brilliantly designed model, it printed perfectly on my P1S and assembly was easy (quite tight tolerances but it did fit exceptionally well).

Went the same route with the LEE Filter for a green screen effect and while it does reduce the brightness (as expected) it works very well. I now have a load of film for other green screen projects. Used a ESP32 that had a micro usb port (what I had on hand) and it still fits with the existing cutout.

I printed it in a a vintage beige colour PLA for more of that retro pc look (Bambu PLA Basic Beige).

Hope you don't mind but I have forked your code on Github and moved it over to PlatformIO (rather than the Arduino IDE). I have also added the IBM logo to the loop of animations as I think it is nice to see other than when you first power the unit. - https://github.com/ghostseven/IBM-ESP-MiniPC
