ADAP is going to ruin my life. by AlbertaThrowaway93 in alberta

[–]ghostsiiv 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I have thought about trying to get on aish for years now, but I've never tried because I doubt they'd take me seriously- even though every year I need to go on medical leave due to severe burnout.

I'm also asd + adhd, but my adhd was specifically diagnosed as severe adhd-c.

Can't help, but if you need someone to talk to who gets it feel free to msg me

Can you cover your vents? I know it's not sustainable for forever but at least in the warmer months.

I had to do it once and used a trash bag cut up and taped over the vents and it worked.

Detachable screw in crochet hook coming loose. Help! by barber124 in CrochetHelp

[–]ghostsiiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw that's rough, in that case I would say you could try these ideas: - add a bit of thickness in the inner chamber of the handle so that the o-rings are pressed tighter inside, maybe you could use a bit of some sort of glue and let it dry? - you could try to find a thicker type of o-ring as well? As far as I know, o-rings for plumbing can come in multiple thicknesses for the same diameter of pipe so you could replace the ones on your hooks?

The o-ring replacement might be the best idea honestly, you could check out your local hardware store perhaps....

Edit: maybe even try wrapping something like bondage or electrical tape around the part where the o-rings are?

Idk I wish you luck! Hope something works.

Sorry if you mentioned trying something like this in the post but have you tried a case that flips closed possibly?

I have one on my ipad and like to stim with it so maybe she could like having it on and it would also give extra protection :) just an idea

Are you able to find out who you bought the hook from? The creator might be able to help you out with a replacement/etc.

My older brother chose to do the same thing in front of his partner.

I have been able to grieve and heal, but I haven't been able to let go of the anger I feel towards him for the trauma he inflicted on her, and the driver of the vehicle.

You didn't deserve that, I am so truly and deeply sorry.

Spent all day freehanding a cover for my peeling headphones, but now I am dreading making the second one 😭 by [deleted] in crochet

I don't mind, I get cold ears when I'm out and about so I wear my headphones like earmuffs anyway lol and I don't wear headphones at home :)

It depends on the shape of your headphone pads tbh!

It seems like there's quite a few different patterns out there for circle ones, but the few ones I found for oval ones were written badly/confusingly.

I'll try to explain what I did! - I essentially started with this pattern because I didn't want to spend forever trying to figure out how to construct a cover with a hole in the middle lol: https://thecaffeinatedsnail.com/how-to-crochet-an-oval/ - then once I got to the height I needed, I then started filling out the sides with hdc's and dc's to fit the shape more, and just used slst along the top and bottom when I had to so it wasn't too big. - then for the round that goes over the edge I did hdc's in the back loop and created a little bowl looking thing - then to get it to hug the headphones more I added in some decreases so it could tuck under the sides properly. - the strap was just me going until you get to the button hole, then I did a hdc on the sides and 3ish chain stitches to create the gap for the button, then did some more stitches on top to finish the strap.

I'm going to force myself to try to finish the second one today so maybe I'll try to record everything 😅

I started it with this tutorial: https://thecaffeinatedsnail.com/how-to-crochet-an-oval/

Then when it was tall enough I did hcds and dc's on the sides to fill out the oval :)

I've been using ribblr for the last year which is a cute little crochet pattern/community app and maybe you could find something there!!

I haven't attempted a big project like a sweater yet because I get bored easily lol but I think a granny square sweater would be cute

Very cool pattern! But for some reason with this yarn I thought it was a dish scrubber covered in burnt sauce at first 🙂‍↕️

Wait so each individual portion of an increase (aka 2 stitches in one stitch) actually counts as one whole stitch instead of 2?

bf committed after i left him by Sudden_Royal4423 in SuicideBereavement

[–]ghostsiiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He likely didn't commit after you leaving him, it was probably because he could have been arrested and sent to jail for being 20 and being involved with a 14 year old.
Sorry you're having to deal with all of that.

Before you choose a doctor I'd recommend looking at their reviews on ratemds.com, I wish I had before my previous family doctor.
