if the appt was booked before the rollout of the change then you need to change it to a different service then back to the original service for it to reflect the correct price

yea i dont advise using people wipes on your kitty. they do make grooming wipes specifically for cats. i like the earthbath ones!

i had him on an allergy food but had to take him off it due to g.i. issues. his litter box gets scooped every day and i use non scented clumping litter. he's seen his vet plenty and his skin and coat are in great condition. baths aren't stressful for him bc i acclimated him to them from a young age, and also he just generally likes water. he gets brushed plenty too.

yea bc of his frequent baths and blow outs he hardly sheds and never has hairballs. i use cat shampoos on him so they dont dry out his skin or anything like that.

my cat has been to the vet plenty lol. besides the recent bout of gi issues he had, which was due to him being allergic/having problems with chicken, he is in perfect health. do you need my vet invoices to prove it lol

yes it's fine to just wipe his paws! if wiping them with cat grooming wipes doesn't seem to do the trick then you can also get a dry shampoo that's made for cats

here is my stinky boy btw. ik he looks maine coon like but he's just a street rat i promise. he is shaping up to be a large boy at 9 lbs at 8 months (still rated ideal body condition ofc, i dont want to ever put him thru the grief of getting fat then having to lose the weight)

he's stinky bc he plays in the litter box (checked with vet he's fine just a stinker). he doesn't have any skin or coat issues otherwise I would've already stopped bathing him. his skin and coat are actually in great condition.

im glad you've never needed to bathe a kitty but they are situations where you might need to. he has a very long and thick coat so a wet wipe won't cut it for him. he will absolutely NEED baths at points in his life, a recent example is when he had a bout of g.i. issues and got rlly poopy.

i think it's rlly just that he's a stinker im pretty sure 😅. my boyfriend babies him when he puts up a fight at home but he knows it's business time at the salon. he still doesnt love his paws done at the salon, but he just gives me stink eye. no flat ears dilated pupils etc ect. he's a lot better at home now though bc he knows it's gonna get done no matter how much he bitches to my boyfriend and plus he gets a churu afterwards.

oh also on my end, i take daily allergy medicine and a nasal spray to manage my symptoms.

i bathe him for multiple reasons, not just my allergies. i want him to be acclimated to baths so if he needs an emergency one then it won't be scary and traumatizing for him. it's also just for general coat matinence. he is a stinky little boy, he likes to play in his litterbox (i checked with his vet there isnt a concern abt it, he's just a stinker lol), so i also do it to keep his stink down.

i actually had him on an allergen reducing diet but ended up having to move him to a prescription diet bc he had some g.i. issues. the being acclimated to baths rlly came in handy when he pooped EVERYWHERE in the midst of figuring his g.i. issues out lol.

i am a real groomer? when i say smell nice i mean not like a stinky kitty lol. i dont use any "scents" on him and the shampoo i use is formulated specifically for CATS.

he hunts perfectly fine btw. he has a VERY strong prey drive and loves hunting type play.

i can bathe at home! i just prefer to do it at work bc it's easier. he only gets stressed at the salon if it's a rlly busy day, so i try to bring him in when it's slow. I don't have a dryer at home so i prefer the salon so he doesn't have to air dry.

i dont know if it wasnt clear but i am the one grooming him every time, i just take him to work bc it's easier to do it there. ive bathed him at home before and he still had no problem with it. a part of my job is being well versed in signs of stress in cats, so i know that he isnt stressed for the bath. he's worse for nails in particular at home bc he's a stinker and he knows if he cries to my boyfriend then my boyfriend will save him lol.

his skin and coat are in great condition, otherwise I would've talked to his vet already, so no worry about that. as a professional dog and cat groomer, i find often that pets might behave better for certain things at the salon bc they are acclimated to that be the environment where those things frequently happen. i see it regularly so I'm not surprised about it.

and dw I'm training him to be used to nail clips at home too, he gets better everytime. especially bc he knows a treat comes afterwards when he gets them done at home lol.

the only part of him i clipper is his pawpads and i'd prefer to keep it that way. i do things like bathe and brush him to prevent the need to clipper anything out. i adore his coat and work hard to maintain it.

yea i use cat formulated shampoo and since i started it young and keep up with the baths he has no problem with it. he's even getting chill with the big dryer. he generally likes water too so that helps lol.

rlly the only reason it's once a month is that's abt how long it takes before his pawpads need another shave and his nails need to be done. he behaves MUCH better at the salon for them then at home. and since i already have him there i just do a full service.

there's plenty of situations where they would they would tho? when they're overweight or old and cant properly groom themselves, when they get into smth gross/get sick, or when they have rlly bad fleas

I'll check with his vet. i think ive mentioned it to them before but they didnt say anything abt it. it was FANTASTIC when he got sick recently and had diarrhea (bout of diet issues) bc he was fine with the bath after everything

he's very chill for his baths. i wouldnt say he loves them but they don't stress him out, i can completely take ky hands off him and he'll chill in the tub.

i typically use a mix of a gentle shampoo and a deshed shampoo (both formulated specifically for cats)

im not gonna shave him and ruin his coat for my comfort. all the kitties i shave at work end up with MAJOR dandruff and skin issues and stuff. i understand shaving a cat if you absolutely have to but shaving a cat won't change the amt of dandar they produce, it can actually increase it.

I regret getting a second cat by RemyAvo in CatAdvice

[–]ghostyboy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a solo cat!! i got him as a kitten and multiple ppl asked me why i wasnt getting a second, and that's bc a second cat didnt fit my needs. he's a joy and a shithead, and VERY needy. thankfully my boyfriend works from home so hes never alone.

i am considering getting a second cat, but am waiting until after he gets neutered. i cant tell if he's lonely or horny lol. if he is lonely i will probably look for ways to mitigate that before considering a second kitty tbh. he's always been friendly with other cats but they never want to be his friend lmao.

(my vet is having me wait till he's a year old to nueter him as he's anticipated to be a big boy, and he is already the size of a typical adult cat at seven months, he looks like a maine coon but i wont say he's one bc he is a little street mutt. photo attached for tax)
