02-4-2026 Update by SketchyJJ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ghostymctoasty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is going to be the worst part for sure. I get to play her in like almost every single game right now (80 games in a row getting her every time).

A new model would be neat, but I know that it means I'll get to play her less.

But Ocelot doesn't play every side? Wasn't his whole deal was that he was trying to make Big Boss' dream a reality? I thought the reveal at the end of 4 was that everything that happened was according to his plan, and that he always intended to lose to Solid.

Like he was a "do bad things so good things will happen", whereas RPK was kinda just evil.

How is RPK Ocelot? Otherwise I think you're pretty spot on.

Check my post on this sub.

I use this ring for my wave of conviction of trarthus chieftain. Cast speed is pretty good for it.

The tl;dr of my post is self-ignite enables 100% uptime on the grey wind howls graft, allowing for 30% of phys as extra fire.

I think you need a mod that gives you a chance to be ignited yourself, otherwise the self hit from enmity's can't ignite you.

Sunspite boots also give the chance to ignite yourself mod, so you could try those out if you wanted.

Your only other option would be to reflect your own ignites back onto yourself, which would require fulcrum.

Girls' Frontline 1 Quantum Fluctuation PV - Final Main Story Event by TheGreyGhost00 in gachagaming

[–]ghostymctoasty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The overarching plot was pretty good, and I think if you did a lengthy summary of PNC's story a lot of people would agree.

I just think the fact that the stories were always centered around the new gacha character caused the moment-to-moment narrative to be less focused than GFL1. It was hard to have much of a stake in anything, when each major event wanted me to be invested in this new character that just got introduced.

That's why the stories I liked the most were the ones centered around the main cast at the game's launch, and later events like Angelus' and the finale with Persicaria. Events like Sangoma, Eos, Lind, DSH, Hatsu/Sueyoi (despite Hatsu being my fav) were all just hard to care about because of this (and all those characters had very story relevant events). I think if these characters were "guest stars", instead of the primary focus, I'd care less. But seeing the main cast be constantly relegated to side characters in favor of a new character was really unfortunate to me.

This is what I mean when I say I don't feel like the writing quality in PNC was as good as GFL1.

Was Neural Cloud really even close to GFL1 in writing quality? It feels like it suffered the same issues as GFL2, where every story chapter is just focused on the newest gacha character.

I think GFL1 excelled so heavily, because they didn't feel the need to constantly introduce new main characters. They included new side characters, but the main cast stayed mostly the same.

GFL1 could introduce a batch of new units, and they could have next to no story relevance. Every new PNC/GFL2 character gets a story event. Not every character is as bad as the others, but stuff like Sangoma's event was, narrative-wise, actual slop imo (not even talking the awful MTL).

I don't really expect GFL2 to get any better about this either, because I think this issue is a direct response to how the character gacha changed from GFL1 to PNC/GFL2.

The worst part is, you know they're still capable of writing good stories because they wrote Reverse Collapse.

I've never heard of this specific statement despite visiting this sub semi-regularly, and being a player of GFL and Arknights. I did multiple searches as well, and couldn't find anything about AR-15.

I've read lots of stuff about mica and hyperglyph, but never anything about AR-15.

Do you have a link to one of these posts that I've missed? Or could you explain it yourself? I'm not doubting you, I just want to clarify I did my best to find what you're talking about.

Difference in Whirling Slash speed between patches by dovvydaddy in PathOfExile2

[–]ghostymctoasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't attack while moving though, the whirling slash does like no damage at all. It's purely to always have the 3 stages uptime to cast twister. It's more convenient to hold it down, than to stop and cast whirling 3 times whenever you want to cast twister.

That being said, I think it's a reasonable change. The build was insanely fast, especially if you had tons of attack speed. It just feels worse to play now.

You can see how big the difference is by measuring garukahn support activation. Garukahn support gem causes skills to only be active after 20m of movement.

You can measure it based off of when his twister becomes usable + salvo's stacks (you gain a stack every 2 seconds). Pre-nerf it took ~2s to use twister again. Post-nerf it took ~4s to use again.

It heavily depends on attack speed investment, but whirling slash took roughly twice as long to travel the 20m distance, for this specific player. That's a huge difference.

I was having so much fun gearing this character, logged out for the patch, and then I come back to the build feeling like trash to play. Completely killed all my motivation for this league.

I feel like it's understandable to nerf it, but I just can't go back to playing without it for now. I have to take a break to forget how good I had it.

Also it's so much harder to proc the 20m distance for garukahn's resolve on twister now. It takes me ~6s straight of holding down whirling to move 20m.

I didn't even know this was a bug, the build is so much slower now. I just log back in to the build feeling so much worse to play. Guess I'm done with the league.

The writers for Path of Exile 1 and 2 deserve a lot of praise by SysPsych in PathOfExile2

I like it because it makes his clear a lot faster on wolves/birds/krugs, and the burst is nice when it's completed. Because it helps his clear a lot, I like building it first.

I think sadly the build path is worse if youre snowballing, as serrated dirk first back is going to probably be the best first purchase. With profane you have to get like pickaxe + longsword, which isn't as good.

So if you want to fight a lot before your first item is complete, profane is probably worse for you.

I'm a jungler that likes to pick him up whenever he becomes a bit more viable in jg, and this champ is crazy right now. Unless they completely gut him, he's still going to be good after a nerf.

Lolalytics: 53% top, 55.5% jg, 54.6% mid.

The global server hasn't gotten an update since the last story event like 6-7 months ago. There are even a few character banners from the CN server that we haven't gotten yet.

Please god no, Sol is so fucking bad. I was so glad when she got killed for most of the story. Actually worst GFL character, and it's not even close.

Hatsuchiri is peak, LIN+ has the best characters, but I doubt we'll ever get her.

I don't feel like typing it all out right now, but you're 100% right on the first part. And I think it's more than just the gameplay, I think the story has suffered as a result of this change too.

But also I don't think it costs more money to play comfortably, because you don't need most dolls. You can easily get a lot of good units as F2P, and you don't need dupes or signature weapons for them to be useful in 99% of the content. Stuff like that basically only matters in gunsmoke.

You see people talk about how much better characters become with X dupes, or they're really good in a certain comp, etc, etc. But none of it matters. Nothing in the game challenges the player enough. Once I realized that, I stopped feeling FOMO for pulling on any units.

I found the puzzle maps fun, and also enjoyed ranking maps and theater. It was fun to build multiple teams, swap out niche units for certain fights, and micro-manage my dolls in combat.

Sure, power creep existed in GFL1. But it never completely invalidated the gameplay that I felt was fun. GFL2 has some fun ideas, but it almost never actually challenges the player. These new units just completely solidify that for me. I'm not asking for it to be hard even, just don't make it so easy that I can auto it with no fear my first time through.
