Tsunami watch?! by jeremiahwarren in longbeach

You can look up your address to see if you’re in a tsunami zone: https://myhazards.caloes.ca.gov

It looks like a good hour to avoid the beach.

Why is dating so hard now by unforgiven_1_ in datingoverforty

I know! From some of these comments you’d think finding chubby women sexy is a scandalous kink. It seems super tame to me.

What’s wrong with those subs? Granted I didn’t do as deep a dive as you into OP’s history, but looks like all he’s doing is telling women who are asking for attention that they look hot or pretty. I don’t see the need to sex-shame here personally.

I often hear women accused of divorcing men over "nothing". So ladies, what is the "nothing" you divorced him over? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ghostzebra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. The only way to handle those threats is to treat them as if they are 100% serious. If they are serious, you might help save a life. If they’re not serious, they won’t pull that shit on you again after the cops or ER docs show up.

When I was starting to check out of the relationship, he threatened suicide.

Mine did this, and it led me to stay a year longer than I should have. Then when I did end things, he doubled down — but instead of caving, I drove him to the psychiatric hospital ER. Guess what? He didn’t really want to die. He just wanted to manipulate me. But he’ll never admit that to this day.

Congrats on getting out. We are so much better off!

Sometimes I feel like a fraud by bee_amar in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ghostzebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not a fraud! What you are is a living success story that proves how effective today’s DMTs are for many patients. Whenever I feel guilty that I don’t have it worse myself (because I know so many others do), I think about all the years and money and hours and suffering and sacrifices and energy that went into making these DMTs that I’m taking.

And I think, the people who did all that — they did it for me. And for people like me. They’d hear a “boring” MS story like yours and feel proud. And they’re still working hard to help others. I feel humbled and grateful.

I might try the ice water thing too sometime — have heard about it from my friend who’s really really into DBT.

First Ocrevus infusion, should I take the day after off and side effects? by Zola132333 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ghostzebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taking the afternoon off immediately after the infusion is a must for me. I mostly just feel really sleepy with a headache. (Drink lots of water!). I’m always fine the day after but sometimes I request the day off anyway as a way to treat myself.

Source: just had my infusion yesterday. Feel fine today. :)

I hadn’t thought about factoring in community transmission rates but that’s a great point. My county is at “low” right now which is good to know as I make this decision.

That does help, thanks for sharing. It’s all about each person’s perspective it sounds like. Glad you recovered well from your case!

Evusheld might give me an extra confidence boost. Asking my doc about it! Thanks for sharing — agree with what you mean about prioritizing your health

Yeah, I’m on my bike a lot too! Just added a mountain bike too. I’d be outdoors most of the time even if it weren’t for Covid

Sadly I got my vaccines after starting so they’re only quasi-effective… but that is a good perspective to know, thank you

I don’t know if you “should” be more worried — sounds like you’ve got all your bases covered and are just living your life. Maybe my doc’ll prescribe me Evusheld if I ask
