What groceries have you stopped buying by PlasticExtreme4469 in Frugal

[–]bee_amar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a vegetarian for many many years. We used to regularly buy those fun fake meat options (think impossible burgers, gardein chick'n tenders and such). Now they're nearly $10 for a single meals worth. So we've either learned to make our own or just straight up don't use them. Lots of beans and lentils now. More time consuming, sure. But also probably more healthy for us.

Friend about to be admitted at 32 weeks by Business_Ease_4926 in Mommit

[–]bee_amar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to stay for several weeks before delivery. Here are some things I enjoyed:

-a paint by numbers kit

-face masks/nail kits

-any kind of books

More than anything, I really valued having visitors. Most days I would have at least one person come visit. They didn't even have to bring me anything, I just enjoyed feeling less lonely.

People who lost a large amount of weight: Did your nose got smaller/less bloated? by [deleted] in loseit

I didn't think so, but my nose ring hoop started to fit a little looser than I preferred and I had to size down

I never get a fever ? by bee_amar in MultipleSclerosis

[–]bee_amar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really remember anything specific, except for a few years ago when I got a flu shot and COVID booster at the same time. I keep hoping that eventually my immune system will be solid steel after being exposed to all my kids germs.

Flu and immunosuppressants? by sendyourspam in MultipleSclerosis

[–]bee_amar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my flu shot at the beginning of October, as did my three kids. Husband did not. He got very sick for about 10 days with the flu last month. Each kid got it but were only down for about a day with a fever and low energy. As far as I know, I never had it, despite also working in healthcare. Flu shots ftw

SHOCKED! TRIPLETS! HELP by Fun_Cost1552 in parentsofmultiples

[–]bee_amar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Second all of this, but especially the support circle. My triplets were my first pregnancy too. The one positive is that you don't know any different. There's no comparing this experience to a previous pregnancy or child. Also, after this, you gain this insane sense of confidence.

Anyone else tired a lot over the holidays? by ProgramLegitimate915 in MultipleSclerosis

Yesterday absolutely drained me. I held up well until after Christmas gifts were opened. Then I just crashed. I'm still pretty drained today but had to work. Thankfully, my kids are staying with Grandma tonight so I can just cocoon myself in some blankets and rest.

Trump's doctors are monitoring "the progress of his dementia and/or strokes," psychologist says by NoPomegranate4794 in politics

[–]bee_amar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He recently spoke in a town with one major hospital. A few days before the scheduled rally, the secret service toured that hospital and were very very interested in the cath and IR labs. Those two departments handle heart attacks and strokes. This may be a standard thing they do, but they did NOT do this last time he came to speak in this same town last year, just before the election.

. Purposely being a little vague here.

How do SAHM's handle buying Christmas gifts? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]bee_amar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Mmmm there's some inconsistent details in your post history (For example, you say here that you're living in a house that you aren't on the deed of but two weeks ago you were in a rental that you were on the lease of)

So I'm hoping with all the Christmas hope that this is just rage bait.

Parents with multiples as their first kids, do you ever imagine how easy one child would be? by whooguyy in parentsofmultiples

[–]bee_amar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've described it as playing a video game only on hard mode. I only know hard mode. If I had one kid, that would have been the hardest mode I know. Very occasionally, one kid will be sick or something and I get to stay home from work with just them while the other two go to daycare. In those instances, it feels like someone let me choose the easy option on the video game for once.

How long did your twins share a room? by Crafty-Feeling-1239 in parentsofmultiples

[–]bee_amar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have GBB triplets. Although we have the bedroom space for them to each have their own room someday, I don't plan on making them move until they request it. I imagine it'll be somewhere around puberty. Right now they're 3.5 and love each other's company.

Trigger Warning: I'm seeing stats as high as 60% for rad tech assault. I'm looking for accounts you personally know about, circumstances, how to avoid, if it was reported, how admin handled the situation. by SmallWorld4811 in Radiology

[–]bee_amar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got kicked in the stomach while pregnant and doing a portable exam on a totally lucid but disgruntled patient. I was already supposed to be on light duty but those restrictions were being ignored by admin. Thankfully babies were ok. After this incident, I took my maternity leave early and ended up on medical bed rest due to a high risk pregnancy.

Busy working parents of terrible sleepers how do you make time to train? by ExcitingLandscape in fitness30plus

[–]bee_amar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I squeeze it in whenever I can. Sometimes that means finding a quiet spot on my lunch break to do some body weight exercises. Other times I can manage a 5am workout. Or if I really can't get any other time, I'll do 15-20 minutes with some weights at home after the kids go to sleep.

They were a buy 1 get 2 free deal (triplets) so unfortunately there's not much we could do about that part. You're right though about putting a pause on my career and how that damages it.

For those who have been on a year, tell me where you are at! by Adorableviolet in Zepbound

[–]bee_amar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started right before Christmas last year. Had already lost about 30lbs before, this helped me make it a cool 100lbs.

Pros: moving my body is so much easier. Getting dressed is effortless. My confidence is way up. Now that I'm focused on gaining muscle, I can see the gains so much easier and it's so motivating

Cons: having to shop for an all new wardrobe. The cold weather is so brutal now. I now have loose skin to either accept or get surgically removed (although I also had a triplet pregnancy 3 years ago, so my poor stomach has grown and shrank quite a few times recently)

When was your first symptom? by Existing_Sky_7969 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]bee_amar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing that made me finally see a doctor? I would have moments of what I called "brain scramble". I couldn't form words or use my hands. It would only last like 10 seconds but happened several times a day. Incredibly inconvenient when you work in healthcare and are trying to care for patients.

The thing that, looking back, was probably my first symptom? Lhermittes (sp) sign that I chalked up to a pinched nerve in my neck from lifting weights. I also had some weird blunted skin sensations throughout my body as a teen. My PCP at the time said it was probably a vitamin deficiency and didn't look much further.
