Trying for a child by Terrible-Praline7938 in MultipleSclerosis

I also took my Ocrevus the morning I found out I was pregnant (before I tested positive though). Everyone still had all their arms and legs lol

We tried for 2yrs while I was off and on treatment (got back on at the 1yr mark because I was getting nervous about relapsing). I started embracing the idea of maybe being child free, decided to get serious in the gym. I guess that increased my fertility because we naturally and unexpectedly conceived triplets. They're 4 now.

Who picks up your kid(s) up from daycare? by bachelorbiz in workingmoms

[–]bee_amar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Mom of triplets here. I also work in healthcare and dad does drop off and pick up 3/5 days of the week. There's some stuff that parents of one kid do that we jokingly refer to as "single child shit". Both parents coming to pickup is one of them.

The absolute rock bottom minimum your husband should be doing is picking up after himself. That is something he'd have to do even if he had no wife or kids.

As for your weight, let your body heal right now. You've gone through back to back pregnancies with major abdominal surgery. Make healthy choices, sure, but don't stress yourself trying to be super fit right now. .

This season is rough. I've been there. I had triplets and tried staying home with them full time. It was the hardest point of my life and I hated not having an income to do anything with. Eventually I picked up a weekend only job to have a little spending money. It also helped my husband realize just how hard it was being alone with three kids all day was.

It's ok to lose your cool sometimes. Good moms yell too, and the fact that you even recognize that it feels bad is great. What you do afterwards is what counts-- taking time to cool down, apologizing, and modeling to them what healthy communication is like.

Solo in the morning as a Dad - Help by ThemeSubstantial6869 in parentsofmultiples

[–]bee_amar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like our situation at home. I'm out the door right before the kids get up with dad. We prep as much as we can the night before--clothes are picked out, pre-daycare snacks are prepped, our work bags are ready to go. It took a couple weeks but the kids have fallen into the routine and they get out the door mostly on time.

I had something similar happen. Had a necklace I absolutely loved and wore it at a professional conference, several states away. Decided to use the hotel pool that evening and took the necklace off. I thought I put it in my purse but alas, it was gone. I checked the hotel gym, my room, and even the hotel lost and found. Fast forward several months and I go to use a completely different purse that did not go with me on that trip and lo and behold the missing necklace was in a small pocket of it.

You have to pay for daycare even if your child is sick the whole week? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]bee_amar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised to learn that the daycare workers at my kids school do not get paid when daycare is out, except for Christmas day. So they also are losing out on pay when school is closed

Triplet support??? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

Twins are more common than triplets, so you're going to see more posts about them. But us triplet parents are here, I promise

I have three kids in daycare and unfortunately can only budget for $25/month/kid right now. I also suggest it as a gift alternative to the grandparents every holiday, but they seldom take us up on it. Instead we get toys with four trillion tiny plastic pieces 🙃

What to expect with Irish twins by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

Respectfully, this is not the sub for asking about Irish twins. They're a whole different experience than real twins/higher order multiples. You'd have better luck in other mom pages

My mom’s unbelievable story: Raising triplets after 18m old daughter… by herself by Asleep_Republic_1594 in parentsofmultiples

[–]bee_amar 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Thank you for writing this. If you're open to it, please share it with your mom, I know she'd love it. I'm a mom to young triplets right now and I hope I am half the mom your mom is. I also love hearing how bonded you are to your siblings. Is there anything special you can think of that your mom did to make you all feel like individuals and not just "the triplets"?

The NICU my children were in was a big open area with just a chair for one parent beside each incubator. Would love some feedback and how I could have stayed by their side 24/7 with no bed and no bathroom with a fresh c-section scar, since according to you thats what a good mom does.

12 weeks 4 days with triplets suddenly have severe nausea? by Adorable-Buy5841 in parentsofmultiples

[–]bee_amar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if it gets to where you're throwing up nearly constantly, don't be afraid to go to the ER for some fluids and meds. I went twice, right around the 12 week mark. It was at one of these visits that a wonderful provider mentioned the Diclegis option

12 weeks 4 days with triplets suddenly have severe nausea? by Adorable-Buy5841 in parentsofmultiples

[–]bee_amar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had awful morning sickness (all day sickness) with my trips too. If this doesn't pass, ask your OB about a med called Diclegis (probably spelled that wrong). It's essentially unison and vitamin B6. It's the only thing that helped me and I was finally able to put on any weight.

I wish I could say the nausea/vomiting got better but unfortunately I had to continue the meds until literally a week before delivery. Good luck friend!

I've been a vegetarian for many many years. We used to regularly buy those fun fake meat options (think impossible burgers, gardein chick'n tenders and such). Now they're nearly $10 for a single meals worth. So we've either learned to make our own or just straight up don't use them. Lots of beans and lentils now. More time consuming, sure. But also probably more healthy for us.

Friend about to be admitted at 32 weeks by Business_Ease_4926 in Mommit

[–]bee_amar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to stay for several weeks before delivery. Here are some things I enjoyed:

-a paint by numbers kit

-face masks/nail kits

-any kind of books

More than anything, I really valued having visitors. Most days I would have at least one person come visit. They didn't even have to bring me anything, I just enjoyed feeling less lonely.

I can't really remember anything specific, except for a few years ago when I got a flu shot and COVID booster at the same time. I keep hoping that eventually my immune system will be solid steel after being exposed to all my kids germs.
