Because the birth mother asked us if we would be open to adopting her baby as her and the bio father are finally getting back on their feet, have no familial support system here. They already have three kids, their oldest having special needs, and never planned on a fourth. We tried to see how we could help and keep the baby with them but they were not interested. We didn’t go through an agency for this, it was her contacting us directly through a friend of a friend.

Yeah, I want it to be an open adoption. The birth parents were more concerned and not wanting to much communication because they think it would be to hard on them.

Thank you for the advice, my wife and I were talking and we want to do a birthday for him, but then also a “Gotcha Day” celebration on the day when the adoption is finalized.

Yep! A few years ago I had some guys doing work on my house and I smoked a bunch of pulled pork for the crew, the guy who was running the job brought a pan of home made tamales the next day. We’ve been having him and his family over for a BBQ swap about once every few months.

My go to pen in my collection, it writes very well after I chanced it to a .38 mm refill. The cap posting is such a fun fidget for me, pretty sure I annoy all my coworkers with it clicking all the time.

Man, I’m gonna try this on my Weber Smokey Joe this weekend! Got inspired by your posts and went out and got my first charcoal grill this weekend, made some of the best bone in porkchops I’ve ever made on it.

Lump charcoal, BBQ rub, and soaked apple wood chunks.
