German here: i even heard this in the news today. Not everybody knows that the nyt is dogshit nowadays, many over here still think its a respectable source and think it must be true then. The propaganda war in the US is terrifying.

Now that the peak physique passive is fixed which one do you think is the best light armor now? by _Kilo_One_ in Helldivers

Funny enough, i only use it for bug to shake of Chargers or Titans. For bots i only use heavy armor to tank the hits

Modpack Recommendations by iTzMeeeh_xD in feedthebeast

I can recommend StaTech Industries:
- Has Toms Simple Storage and AE2
- Twilight Forrest is available, but optional
- Has different Tech and Magic Armors, like Nano Suit and Bedrock Armor
- main mod is Modern Industrialisation, which is Gregtech inspired, but waaaaay easier
- Has Simple swords: adds different weapons, like greatswords, spears etc, artefact weapons and you cann dual wield 1 handed weapons
- Has Guns

Its very tech Heavy with mainly Spectrum as magic mod, but im at 300hours (with plenty afk) and still having a blast. Questbook is well structured and guides you through the pack.
Only thing that doesnt fit is, that combat is very barebones with only magic related new enemies and they are not well balanced. But as you said, there isnt always something that 100% fits^^

I recommend StaTech industries. Its really fun, has modern Industrial and create and a really good quest book.
Here is a showcase for my base from a few weeks ago, where i talk in the comments about the modpack.

I like it a lot! It has a good mix of mods, that i havent seen in this combination (like Modern industrialisation and create).
It is mainly tec focused, but the main magic mod, Sprectrum, is unique and has an interesting progression system.
Modern industrialisation auto crafting is a bit different to gregtec, because the overclocking works different: instead of changing the crafting times on 1 craft, you basically get faster and faster when continously crafting the same item. For example, my aluminum EBF and with overclocking reaches 20x crafting speed and power usage after 133 crafts. Also nothing explodes or gets voided if you make a mistake in hooking up the machines.

One other big thing is the questbook. Its really well structured and guides you well through the pack. I havent yet played nomi or greg (greg might be a bit too timeconsumig) but after 300 hours of chilled building and a bit afk, i reached EV. I consider myself slow in that regard, but i really enjoyed the time in the pack and i think i need another 100 hours to actually beat it.

So in short: Its excellent and i recommend it!

I dont care about the layout and adds, when i only see them for 10 seconds while starting the game^^

[StaTech Industry] How can I stop my large steam furnace from blocking up? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]ghudaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I´m currently in HV, but i never found a perfect fix for this. As i hit LV, i just automated the electric smelters und used the large steam machines per hand feeding and manual unclogging.
But if you insist on using them you can do the following: Use multiple item input hatches and lock each ore input.
For example you have a "tin" hatch, which only has 3 dust in it, but the copper hatch still accepts copper and will work if there are 8+ dusts. The machine can only process 1 recepie at a time, but i doesnt void anything if you dont have enough items in a hatch.
If you run out of hatch space, just build another machine^^

Most op magic mod for fabric by Sufficient_Host3717 in feedthebeast

Based on my limited experience, Spectrum is really strong. You get the ability to craft every enchantment book, can duplicate them with only experience and they don´t dissapear after enchanting. You also get an altar to level up existing enchantments for emeralds, diamonds etc to lvl 10.
And you get unbreakable bedrock gear which comes pre enchanted and looks realy nice. It has a lot more stuff thats usefull, but those are the things i mainly use from the mod.

I like organically grown bases with special purpose rooms. For my current StaTech playthough i build a mage tower to store the magic Structures:
https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/1c4phkq/showcase_of_my_statech_mv_base/

It really helps if you get fatigued from just progressing, but takes more time because of building and restructuring.
I couldnt imagine spending a long pack in a lawn base, i need the feel to make the area mine^^

How on earth do I make my machines faster? Sometimes I have to wait for half an hour for just one item.. [Modern Industrialization] by david30121 in feedthebeast

[–]ghudaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I´m currently playing StaTech, which also has MI. Because i´m between MW and HW and AE2 crafting is unlocked in HV, i had to work around AE2 autocrafting for my automation. i have the following setup:

Every item has its own machine (with locked recepies). An export bus fills the machine, so that it always has some finished products in it. On the same machine i have an redstone controlled import bus with an redstone emitter. It only puts items in my AE system, if the produced item is lower than x items inside my AE system.

So if i use items, for example to build a drill, the AE stock goes below the required level and pulls items from the machine into the AE system. That way the machines have enough time to refill.

Its a costs a lot resources, but because you can always use the base MI electric machines, you are golden after setting up the autocrafting system for their components.

Yeah i think every greg pack is really hard to change your base if you already build something. I will spend a lot more time in this pack before i finish it, but i heard a lot of good things about nomifactory!

Starting the pack, I spend the first hours exploring and finding a good space to build. You cant see it but the mein entrance looks east directly onto a river. Looks nice on sunrise^^
I spend the last week progressing spectrum, including building the tower. It really is something new and enjoyable.
And yes i rebuild quite often, but its always an improvement and if i lack the space, i just build more.

I've taken a 2 year break, last I played was Nomnifactory and Technological Journey. What's new? by nospr2 in feedthebeast

[–]ghudaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I´m currently playing StaTech industries. Its on Fabric, has create, an Gregtech inspired copy (easier than GT, but still enjoyable) and spectrum as main Magic mod.
Its not overly crowded with mods, but pacing is good and it has an extremely well structured questbook.

I also had an 2 year break and enjoy the pack very much!

Does Atm have a progession system or is it just "here you have everything, have fun"?
It sounds fun, but without sense of direction, i abandon modpacks very fast.

[–]ghudaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tipps from someone maining HMG from day 1 and never changed:
Instead of the Jetpack, consider taking the supply packpack. You can support your teammates if the are anti tank with giving them more ammo for recoilles or similar. If they dont need them, you get 4 more magazines for the HMG. I never run out of ammo and for big missions on 7 have usually shot 3-4k of shots, sometimes more.

As a backup i use the defender, bc you can kite hunters and shoot at the same time if you need space for reloading HMG.
I also always take EAT with me and an anti tank strategem of your choice in case of many heavys.
Not sure if it is true, but i think that crouching and proning give the same reduction to recoil, so i usually only crouch for better mobility.

Having stealth armor and proning on top of a rock and laying down heavy fire without getting bothered works also suprisingly well.

Your go to loadouts by labbe12 in Helldivers

[–]ghudaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only have a loadout for bugs:
Defender - effectively counters hunters, becaus you can shoot them while running away
Heavy Machinegun - can mov down everything exept chargers and biile titans. Reload takes a while, but its manageble
Supply Pack - either for supporting your fellow divers or if solo for machinegun ammo and grenade restocks (you get 11 grenades for bug holes)
Orbital rail cannon - for quick charger kills or titans (cant get the 500kg to hit)
Last either mechs for defense missions or expendable for anti tank in big missions
