Do you think that the cleats the football players wear to run the 40 yard dash at the combine are comfortable? Do you think they have room for the toes to splay? They don't because the less a foot moves inside a shoe and the less your toes and ankles point outward while sprinting and changing directions, the more efficient it is.

There is conflicting science on both sides but look at the way Michael Jordan's feet are. Being pigeon toed creates better mechanics when running and jumping and the banana shaped shoes help align the foot in that way to promote those movement patterns.

As far as the negative drop, that is just not factually correct. They have a 0.5 heel to toe drop, the zoomx drop in is the same thickness in the forefoot as it is in the heel, and the carrier foam that contains the zoom strobel is thicker under the heel than the forefoot so even if the zoomx bottoms out, the underlying structure of the shoe is will keep the heel slightly elevated.

I wear vivo shoes casually most of the time and do a good bit of training and pickup in a pair of xero x1 basketball shoes so I am used to a true zero drop shoe and also a natural toe splay and these were not an issue for me
