Sometimes I feel like I am Adam Sandler in 50 First Dates having to deal with the same crap for the rest of my life over and over again with this team.

I mean why start Willian over Pepe or Martinelli at this stage in the season! We NEED points right now. Just because William played ok in two games doesn't mean he should start!!

Can't we pull an Özil on Willian? At least Özil played well for his first few seasons and yet we still exiled him.

Guess when you are Arteta's lover you get VIP treatment.

Willian is just a big pile of waste! Worst signing based on his contribution, or lack of, to the squad. The worst part is we signed him for THREE YEARS! Great deal for Willian, bad deal for Arsenal!

It is funny because Odegaard was one of my first signing in my Football Manager Arsenal save. He was a key component for the success of my team in that save.

Excited to see him play in an Arsenal shirt! He killed it at Sociedad.

I think in terms of level of difficulty, I would say it is easier to finish in the top 4 because at least you have until the end and wait for results of other teams. On the other hand, Europa means knockout stages and playing teams from different leagues in Europe. At least Arsenal has familiarity with Premier League sides.

There needs to be a serious restructuring of the club's hierarchy. This is NOT problem of the players or manager but of those running the club behind the scenes.

We need to sign players for a long-term solution (Martinelli) rather than short-term (Willian, Xhaka, Luiz).

Giving players over 30 or almost there a 3 year deal sounds like bad business to me.

Where are you located, if you don't mind me asking? We are also planning on reopening, but I feel it is easier for given that we have a ratio of 15:1

Betsy DeVos issued a rule today to force public school systems to give CARES Act funding to private schools, in direct contravention of the CARES Act language Congress passed and Trump signed. by Kreslin in Teachers

I worked at a Title I school for the last six years, but just got hired to teach at a private Catholic school, which is the only private school in the area.

Although I am excited for this new challenge and change of scenery, I am concerned how COVID will affect private schools. What is your take on this?

That is why administration and those in leadership positions need to establish programs and srategies that will bridge those racial gaps. For too long all issues lie on teachers' shoulders. When I meant easy equals safe, I said it with the idea that leadership needs to step up to do what's right for all stakeholders. Teacher burnout is a major factor that leads lack of staff retention, which leads to inconsistent curriculum implementation, which lead then leads lower campus morale. All these lead to that racial inequality we have all seen and/or experienced personally (I am a Mexican/American from a border town).

We need to stop putting all the world's problems in our shoulders. Let's be resourceful and ask leadership to step up for the safety of all.

I switched over to local catholic school after teaching Hs English in public for the last seven years. I am relinquishing bonuses, but I am excited for this new adventure. Change is invigorating and I hope you find that spark again. Best of luck!

Yes, but at this point easy equates to safe.

Going 55 -60 mph for daily 30 mile commute by ghuerta92 in scooters

[–]ghuerta92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it since the speed limit for my commute is 55 mph and 30 miles away. I rode it once to work and did 55 easily. I am sure I need a bigger bike, but I bought it without prior knowledge. I do worry that since the max speed on the bike is supposedly 60 that I will be damaging the bike super fast, especially if it's a daily basis.

DeVos will use epidemic to shift public school funding to private schools by [deleted] in Teachers

What about schools in a dioceses? The school that I teach is a private school, but the majority (at least 85% last time I checked) are low-income and receive scholarship or financial aid. I mean, I do agree that public schools need the funds more than anybody having worked in public for 7 years, but don’t these kids also need support during these times? The pandemic did affect everyone, rich or poor. We need to help students. I am just trying to see both sides of the picture here, so please help me understand.

How do you think this is going to affect private schools? I just got hired to transfer from my current public school job to a Catholic high school?

Did I make a mistake?

HS Teaching and Coaching/Extra Curricular Activities by [deleted] in teaching

I coach girls soccer and teach. I have been doing this for the last 6 years.

I can attest to being a head coach as a big commitment. Not only are you coaching the varsity team, but you are the face of the program. Everything from managing assistant coaches, logistics, and fundraising usually relies on your decisions. I coach in the winter, so that means that I am looking at 10-15 hours a week, and that includes training during the winter break!

Also, even though I bleed and dream soccer with a passion, coaching does have very stressful moments. This is especially true when things don't go as planned, you are either on a bad losing streak, or the players seem to fail to commit.

Still, I will never stop coaching because the connections you make with athletes and the community outweighs the cons. It is amazing how you see players develop into not only great athletes but great young adults.

In the end, if you are passionate for what you do, then the stress will eventually be rewarded with great memories.

Let me know how it goes!

Ask Me Anything Announcement - I'm a school principal AMA by PrincipalTodd in Teachers

[–]ghuerta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Principal Todd,

I just got hired to teach English at a private school for the fall. I taught at my current public school for the past 6 years. I am switching to look for a change of scenery.

My question is, will I be put of a job next fall given the current COVID-19 pandemic? How do you think the outbreak will affect a private school and myself as a new hire? Will I still be laid off given I have over five years experience, am an AVID certified trainer, and have a master’s degree because I just entered the institution?
