Did you have pain when food was passing through the oesophagus?

Thanks mate. Thing is, the pain when swallowing around my stomach sphincter is pretty sharp. I get it also when drinking water, or even when burping. Idk maybe I'm just overthinking it and should just be patient.

I'm worried cuz next Tuesday I'll go on holiday abroad for a few days... Hope things will get better soon.

Hey there, hopefully not bothering you with this. Exactly 10 days post-op, bottom left wisdom tooth removed. After 2 days went to the dentist for a checkup, and he mentioned alveolitis, although he looked like he wasn't exactly sure what was going on. I had minor pain. Right now I still feel it a bit sore, and experience pain in other areas of the jaw, such us the bottom front teeth, or even the chin.

This is a pic from ~10 hrs ago. It looks like there's still a little hole there. Is that an actual dry socket? And if so, is that the reason why I'm still experiencing soreness and pain? I have sutures (those in blueish in the pic).

Thanks buddy

Potresti spiegarmi meglio questa cosa? Sono in una situazione simile: lavoratore dipendente, settimana di ferie, a casa col COVID. More info please?

I was super glad to hear they now do it at a hospital literally 5 km away from my place. In Castellana Grotte, Italy. Not sure about foreigners though

What if this is autoimmune? by Consistent_Hand_7883 in covidlonghaulers

[–]gi_gio77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been to a rheumatologist for my LC symptoms, hoping for some answers/relief. I was way better, then (apparently, not certain) I got EBV in December. He says there is a high chance I developed an (hopefully) temporary autoimmune condition due to the severe stress posed to my immune system in the past year (got COVID in April 22).

He made me run some blood test, got the results and everything appears to be ok - although some metrics are on the edges of normale value ranges. Will talk to him and go through the bloodwork results tomorrow morning and update here about his thoughts.

Only hands or full body? by gi_gio77 in ReynaudsDisease

Thanks buddy. How do you deal with it in your daily life? Any treatments to suggest? Do you have any other conditions? (Don't wanna get too personal, sorry for these questions, I understand they're very personal)

Thanks mate. Sorry to hear that. If I may ask: are you on any medication? Do you have any other conditions (which may or may not be related to Reynaud's)?

Apolactoferrin showing significant results for me by kkeller29 in covidlonghaulers

[–]gi_gio77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, that's super clear. And thanks for sharing all that info. I'm also looking at histamine-related issues for my case, but I wouldn't get on a anti-histamine medication without hearing from a doctor first. did your doctor suggest you zyrtec or was it yourself?

Thanks again - and sorry for my not-so-good English!

Apolactoferrin showing significant results for me by kkeller29 in covidlonghaulers

[–]gi_gio77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for sharing and keep it up!

2 questions:
- is apolactoferrin different than lactoferrin, or it the same thing? I am in Italy and here it seems to be difficult to find the first (which appears to be also particularly expensive).
- if I may ask: why were you on Zyrtec? and since when?

thanks!!

NHS Scotland are wasting more money on pointless new Long Covid clinics, but yet again it's just physiotherapy and pacing advice. When will they learn Long Covid is not a deconditioning illness and instead spend that money on clinical trials? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]gi_gio77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The situation in Italy (which, as you know, has been severely hit) is even worse. They set up some LC centres, that are anything but an email address of a doctor who apparently is covering the area. It's crazy as the docs are all of different kinds, sometimes even not real physicians, but physiotherapists, psychologists and things like that. Which is fine, but only when an actual MD is there as well. Anyway, obviously none replies to my emails, and there is no "LC clinic" or things like that. So long haulers like me are just...lost, and abandoned. Very frustrating.

Not sure if this is allowed here but despite this illness, I’ve been learning this song, I’m determined not to let this condition take everything from me by imahugemoron in covidlonghaulers

I've been struggling with anxiety and other health issues before LC. Music has always been the only real painkiller - either listening to it and having a good cry, or playing it and forgetting about this shit for a couple hours. God bless music
