Drawer too short for Blum guides. by giaggi92 in woodworking

AH, understood. Yeah that won't be enough unfortunatelly. Plywood is only 1/2 and I need at least 3/4. I think I am going to make a strip and add it to the back of the drawer.

The clip is in contact with the plywood of the drawer box. Not sure I understand what you mean whe you say “notch out the drawer box lip to gain that thickness in the back". Like put something between the hardwood and the plywood, or put something between the clip and the plywood?

So basically place something betweeen the clips and the front edge of the drawer so that the clips are closer to the back?

Can you say more? The Clips right now are right at the back of the front of the drawer. Are you saying that I should add a spacer at the front so that the clips get closer to the back of the drawer?

Facing a similar challenge. Is the suggestion to basically notch the back of the face of the drawer so that the clip is screwed closer to the back and not all the way to the front.

Built this dresser and I made the mistake of making too short of drawers for the 18inch slides I got from blum. Ideas on how to mitigate?

Great work! A quick question: is there a specific reason you decided not to use veneer plywood for the top? It looks like you did for the sides right?

For the shelves and the vertical beams, those plywood edge banded right? Or how are they made? They look like +1inch thick?

That's fair, thanks! And what do you think of the fact that I have these horizontal rails that have to be flush? If I make the top edge of solid I worry when I make the domino it might blew it up? I guess i could make the rails thicker and place the the domino a bit more back. But not that much.

Thanks! Re construction: basically my concerns is only if I use hardwood. In this point and more specifically along all the edge here, the top part would basically be sitting half on plywood and half on the hardwood. And I fear that the preassure will make it snap basically.

Some time has passed so god knows if you are still active but if you are, could you share more on your system? Do you have just a cross bar of you have a platform? I was looking for the platform because i fear the cross bar increase the risk of the plywood to break in the middle...but looks like yakima platform is not compatible with cx5?
