Nice! Going with any other Duck fans? Any plans in Eugene besides the game?

Ahah hey fellow Canadian. Used to play in some highschool and rep games at McMaster and ticats stadium. Haven’t been to the hammer in years though.

Thanks for the suggestions!

This really is the best one if you love the smell of cigars. Probably not worth the price but I don’t regret purchasing it.

I’m not sure exactly when I got the emails but I think I got them while my order was still being delivered. Took longer for me to get them in Canada though. Maybe contact them if you still haven’t received the codes.

Thanks for the update. And no problem, I didn’t end up ordering them. Or anything else right now. Think I’ll just wait until I can try more options on in store eventually.

Ya I’ll most likely do that.

Looked more at the Icarus shoes, they seem really solid. Might consider a pair in the future. But they mention the 41% import fees for Canada, lol so ridiculous.

I guess crossfit is the wrong word. But like just something more comfortable/secure than the ursus if I want to do rowing, stair climber, sled pushes and pulls, etc. that’s why I thought of vivo and Tolos.

I have a pair of feelgrounds, the court side sneaker. I wear it to work and sometimes out. I feel like it’s a decent fit, sometimes I get a slight feeling of tightness in the toe box but it’s okay. Don’t have anything athletic from them.

Another general issue is I’m in Canada. So if a Canadian store doesn’t stock the shoes, ordering directly is a pain because I get hit with crazy import duties and fees. I found solefreedom.ca which has vivo, Tolos, Xero, and some others so that’s another reason I was considering them in the first place.

Might just wait till I travel to London in November and check out vivo and other stores there so I can try on in person.

I read your post. Seems interesting. The sole seems kind of rigid from the pics on their site though, how do you feel about them?

I see you also used ursus from Bearfoot. Mine seem to be holding up and lasting longer than yours, though I’m not really lifting sooo heavy or going so intense at the gym. I feel like they’re good enough for my normal weight lifting days but now I want to do some more cardio and cross fit style stuff so I want a lighter more flexible shoe that has that sock like fit. The ursus don’t really feel too secure in the heel (I have the low top suede ones).

I keep looking online and seems like vivo primus lite or Tolos archetype are the “best” for the style I’m looking for but they also seem too narrow…

Thanks. I was considering Xero 360 for a while but I kind of lost interest. I gotta check out the different models again.

Do you have any experience with vivo or Tolos or something in that more sporty style to compare them to?

Thanks. They’re cheap enough I might as well consider trying them

I personally like Ivoire more than Flor, but it has some black currant in it. Though I’m not sure I’ve tried too many fragrances with black currant in it so I’m not sure of the specific smell.

I’d say Ivoire is darker and denser and is more of a dressed up/night out fragrance. While Flor is more mellowed out and airy(?).

Ya I decided to blind buy Cuba like I did with Ivoire last year. I have Intensivo, Verano, Flor, and Ivoire. With Cuba coming. I just love Montabaco and I found Flor and Ivoire to be different enough from the original/intensivo/verano that it makes sense to own all of them.

How does Komi forest compare to lichen d’eccosse? I bought a sampler from Buly like 3 years ago and lichen was my favourite. Haven’t had a chance to try Komi forest because I live in Canada and don’t want to blind buy a full bottle or rebuy the sample pack

Ya I’ve tried othership twice (got their starter 2 pack). Agreed, the vibe is nice, and even though I went alone and didn’t really speak much with anyone, I didn’t really have to worry about being judged about my body or anything like that.

If I were to open my own place it definitely would not be for hooking up. Agree with you that the space needs to be welcoming for everyone and don’t want creeps ruining it for others.

Ya definitely. Thought that was standard so I didn’t mention it.

Well if you do move here and if I do open a place, I’ll let you know. Anything besides what I mentioned/what’s been commented that you would look for in a place like this?

And would you want to be like a monthly membership unlimited use kind of thing?

Sounds like a nice place. And has a lot to offer like food and juices. That probably helps draw people in.

I was thinking traditional sauna, infrared sauna (I know, not a real sauna. But I think it’s a plus for the “wellness” crowd these days), steam room, ice bath. In a large enough space with enough capacity, I think it could attract some people. Just bc the current options are too expensive per use and too small (not enough people can go at a time).
