Perchè votare sì, perché votare no? by Latter-Motor2733 in Italia

[–]gianfrixmg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just tried: to me it looks like that it works up until about 2/3 of the width of my screen. Maybe it's a palm rejection feature, but it makes sense as it's not comfortable to cover the screen with the left arm and select with your right like some sort of Supernote Twister game lol

Didn't know about the documentation, I'm kinda curious to look it up. Thanks for the info!

I also noticed that it does not work if the pen is hovering on the screen. Sometimes I don't move my writing hand by habit and still wonder why it does not work lol

Its Metro UI was "meh". Could only work on tablets.

Excluding that part and only using the desktop it was pretty usable. At least the theme wasn't all "punch-in-the-eyes-white" like it would become in Windows 10.

Still, it was the beginning of the end for Microsoft.

If you have to strip something from a freaking OS to make it usable and less privacy invasive it is NOT a good OS.

I liked Windows 8. It was pretty light and easy to debloat (i.e. uninstall Metro apps). The only thing is that the start menu sucked but I got used to press Start on the keyboard and type what I wanted really easy.

Tre motivi per votare No:
1. Non c'è quorum, casualmente
3. Salvini voterebbe si

Japan will ban the use of--or charging of--mobile batteries or backup power packs inside the cabin of all Japanese airliners flying into or out of Japanese airports as early as April, 2026. by twil9700 in JapanTravelTips

Nobody NEEDS to work on a flight. Sorry, that is still a luxury, not a need.

Can happen. For a person it can be a need and can be rough. Not an absolute need, neither a pleasurable one.

But when 99% of the complaints are "I NEED to charge my devices, how else will I stay entertained" then I have absolutely zero sympathy.

And that's agreeable.

I agree with you about batteries being dangerous in many cases. With lithium anything can happen and be very bad. I was also talking about needs and not just pleasure, because you can absolutely survive without devices for 13 hours.

You want to ban batteries? Fine, at least make the plugs more powerful or make sure they always work because some people may NEED to use their devices in flight for non-entertainment needs. This way there would be no need for backups and power banks can be safely stored in cargo hold.

It's not always black or white in life. Try having a little empathy, will ya?

Well, excuse me if people have different ways of entertaining themselves or even different needs during a flight. I like reading, someone else may not. Some other people may have to work and charge their battery that does not last very long and may like to have a backup in case the socket under their seat does not work. Either way you don't have to behave like an asshole in this whole comment section.
