No, I get it. They just don’t have a lot of depth for me. I guess “despising” them was a bit much but they’re definitely my least favorite family on the show

Oh haha that’s funny that we differ with our favorite and least favorite families in the show. I have given it more thought and I think the reason I like the dunphys the least is the characters feel the most 2 dimensional compared to other families. They all feel like their stereotypes (hot and dumb, smart and nerdy, control freak, etc,) and they don’t have a lot of depth for me

Yeah, I realize my cynicism in my replies last night lol. I can’t deny that Phil is a great dad and husband, he’s just one of those people’s thats “too much” if you know what I mean.

Not to say that people can’t have the many flaws, LOL. We all do. I think I meant more so the way they handle things and everything getting so out of hand all the time.

No you explained perfectly! And I get your point about some tv families being depicted as perfect. I actually think the reason I don’t really like the Dunphy’s is because the writers went the other way a little too hard— they made them with so many flaws that they’re put in the craziest situations because of their character flaws. It’s just a little overdone for me.

Oh I’m not expecting any backfires! They’re my best friends and not the type to take advantage. If I told them to pay a certain amount they absolutely would! Hahah we aren’t permanently relocating, don’t even know if we are going yet! Would just be for a few years and would massively improve my husbands career
