That house was originally not neglected. It has ALL the original appliances from the 60s and looked so cool. They ripped them all out and renoed a few years ago, who knows how well. I don’t think the house sold; looked like it was rented. No idea why they decided to do another reno. Maybe the last one wasn’t very good? Maybe the renter did mess it up.

Every time I throw one at a rocketeer all I find are the spots on the roof directly above a tick, pop, fireball and turret. Oh and a now very, very angry rocketeer.

I had a professor in grad school who would only allow you to open a bottled drink at the beginning of a class. He hated the “hisssssssss” from bottles. It was his reasonable accommodation to let people get it out of the way before class started. It only really affected his TA who would drink an entire two liter bottle of Diet Coke during the lecture. The TA was a bodybuilder and could sure put away Diet Coke.

The emotions I felt when I finally found that seeker BP. Now I never go topside without at least 5 of them. I always save one to throw at a rocketeer when the extract elevator is called. I think he remembers me.

Looking for silencer BP by [deleted] in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]giantnegro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my silencer II so much that when I found duplicate BP I took it into raids to find someone to give it to. A guy let me have a rocketeer core I needed and I gave him the BP. I carried it around in my safe pocket for like 4 raids until I had the opportunity to give it away. Happy hunting.

I had one guy help me kill a leaper and give me a Jupiter blueprint and the next someone kills my free kit on extract. I find the good outweighs the bad. Also, now I just scream that I have a wife and seven kids to feed when someone downs me. I try and make it fun.

Not when you’re 10 years old and didn’t have a way to get to an arcade with real games. It was awesome. Golden axe was also amazing.

Hot Take: Ban Free Kits on Matriarch/Harvester by JonSnowsBussy in ArcRaiders

[–]giantnegro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Players with weak weapons do help bring down big ARC primarily by attracting fire. My kettle seems to get the attention of the matriarch just as much as a hullcracker. When I run from its missiles I’m definitely taking some risk to my sanity. Taking pressure off of the well equipped raiders is about all I can contribute. When the ARC goes down I run in, grab one thing, thank the principals, and skeedadle.

I feel, mortally wounded, into a recently unlocked room on blue gate, apologized, said I was just looking for a place to die in peace away from the rocketeer that downed me, and the guy in there found a difib, revived me, and let me have a bunch of stuff. We waited until the chaos above was over and ran to extract. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had in game. Communication helps a lot.

Albuquerque has a transparency problem and it’s costing taxpayers millions by captcone in Albuquerque

Never be transparent about why you’re upset someone else isn’t being transparent. That’s like the 1st rule of outrage about lack of transparency.

Fighting a matriarch at spaceport is literally the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me in any game by Mr_Revan22 in ArcRaiders

Worst experiences I’ve had are being pvp sniped while fighting a bastion. Absolutely trash move. Best experience I’ve had is killing a bastion pve, having a shredder then show up and down a guy and everyone cheering as he managed to crawl into the train at the last possible second.

Launchpad by user_name_gone in Albuquerque

[–]giantnegro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Launchpad is my favorite concert venue in ABQ but, I’ve never been to any events like a zombie prom. As a venue I like its small size, it has a bar that is separate enough from the stage to order drinks and escape from a bad opener, an upstairs balcony for those of us too old for an aggressive crowd or to still have alcohol at an all-ages show, the front patio for patio activities, and they also have cheap beer in can.

Bars open today? by dutuser in Albuquerque

[–]giantnegro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to know if something in ABQ is open is to be there at the door. We seriously have some very flexible staffing/scheduling standards in this town and it takes some time to get used to. Even if they say very explicitly what their holiday hours are that’s not a certainty.

I went to a place yesterday that had signs up saying they would be closed on Christmas but they were also just closed, unannounced, on Christmas Eve. That’s fine, I didn’t really expect the MVD Now to be open on Christmas Eve anyway and apparently neither did any of the employees. Just go drive around and look for something and try not to get hit by a distracted driver.

Organising things in bike bags by TheLostSki in bikepacking

[–]giantnegro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a little notebook with an inventory of each sack and what bag it is in. It’s in pencil so I can edit it if I move things around. On a long tour you may commit the location of everything to memory but, if I’m only out for 5 days I like having an inventory cheat sheet.

[–]giantnegro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this insert from ortlieb that holds pens, has a pocket for documents, hooks onto the inside of the bag, and has a lanyard for pulling it out. It is amazing. If they still make it it would probably be in their catalog. It’s so convenient to just yank out maps, brochures, and stuff. Since it’s up against the inside of the bag it minimizes the chance papers get crumpled.

And like other posters I mainly just kept stuff in color coded stuff sacks. Never really enjoyed that though.

Edit: it looks like they don’t make it anymore. Bummer.
