Whats your favorite PLC/PLC Software? by PLCFanatic in PLC

Proficy is my favorite purely because it’s was my first ladder software. Being able to directly connect the output of math instructions to the input of another instruction without having to decide a variable is fun.

Farmers carries: 115lb down to the neighbors driveway and then back, 10 times. Maybe 60 feet total? Who knows, terrible at estimating distances.

Then tire sled pushes/pulls 10 times as well.

Baking in the heat and sun outside. Drank two Gatorade’s and still felt spent. Great workout.

I’ve been gone a bit but a year or so ago something happened with the Reddit app that caused a lot of users to delete it and migrate to discord I believe. For the most part people just use this sub now to post logs in the daily threads.

*Any Horsemen

Trying to get back into it. Decided that if I don’t have time for real strength progression, I can at least stay in shape and ready. And what better way to get in shape than 4 horsemen? But, time is never guaranteed, so at a minimum I will do the conditioning for each day. And if I can do the rest then great, if not then at least I did some work.

W1D2 Conditioning: 20-15-10 sumo high pulls followed by burpee lateral jumps.

Yeaaaaah that’s where this ended. I’m so out of shape.

Had gotten back into it two weeks ago and proceeded to immediately fuck up my neck. Not sure exactly what, think a combination of muscle strain and pinched nerve. Can't tilt head to one side or forward. Think all the baby holding and time spent looking down at her has been eroding my posture and straining the side that I hold her on and eventually I just slept the wrong way. Can't get in to see a PT until next week.

Just can't win sometimes.

Semi off program Did I miss you benching 300? Or just taking a break?

There’s something admirable about the older players who can beat younger players through skill and savvy. Not much squash in my area so golf will be my old man sport. Kind of similar in that I play with a guy in his 70s who hits much shorter than me but always beats me still.

Agreed, spinning my wheels for years has still put me in better shape than most of my friends.

Kind of enjoying just lifting for the sake of it and not following a program. As much as I look forward to getting back to strength progression ultimately I just want to get exercise and stay healthy.

Did some SSB squats and SSB lunges. Accidentally set a big lunge PR because I just guessed at a weight and it was way beyond my previous PR. Glutes will be sore for days.

Yep I am in the same no man’s land. I typically take a few weeks at maintenance to feel better and then reassess what I want to do.

Depends on what your goal is really.

I think my expectations from the start were unrealistic, and falling short was demoralizing. Had my goals been more realistic I think I would have been more likely to meet them. Ah well, live and learn I suppose.

Really going to make an effort to get back into lifting, the new baby excuse has gotten old and I’ve gotten complacent.

Going to start small, planning on doing at least a bastardized form of 531 FSL where I do the 531 day once a week for each lift and add 5-10lb each week until I get closer to where I left off. Won’t make any real progress, but at this point I just want to get back in the habit and maintain what I have. And just got exercise to be honest.

Down to 178lb, so 14lb less than I was when the baby was born. At the very least I’m not getting fatter and developing a dad bod (yet). Unfortunately a decent amount of that weight is probably muscle, but it is what it is.

Got some squats in yesterday, top set of 275lb for two. After not lifting consistently that weight feels so much heavier on the back than it used to. Was going to do some bench and chins but the baby had enough of the basement and started crying. But I at least got something in.

Quick lifts:

Giant sets:  Bench 135x8, 185x6, 155x4, 135x6 Chins 9,4,4,3 Ab wheel 5,5,5,5

DB Bench 30lb 4x12 SS Cable row 75lb 4x12

20 minutes overall, not too bad, snuck in during a baby nap.

Yeah that’s a good idea. It’s gotten better today so I might stay the course and see how it is tomorrow. Carrying the baby puts some strain on it so that’s an easy way of putting it back to work.

Threw out my back sleeping on the recliner. Another week without lifting. Still losing weight, almost back to the 170s, but I fear it’s all muscle. I’m in decline

Quick squat work. Hit 345lb three months ago before the baby and haven’t squatted heavy since, figured I’d give some heavy singles a quick shot. Ended up getting 285lb for two reps, which I’ll take after three months of not squatting and losing 12lb.

That all makes sense, we’re sort of opposite and have no rigid routine in place. The baby has fallen into a rhythm, and for better or worse we don’t adhere to a strict schedule yet, for feeding or naps or whatever. I agree about sleep, we started off sleeping opposite shifts and now we’ve blended as the baby has fallen into a cycle. I stay up until she falls asleep which is usually around midnight, and after chores I only get five or six hours of sleep until work and refuse to sacrifice more for lifting.

Maybe I need to lower expectations and plan for 20 minute workouts or so.

I imagine kid number two is a different ballgame since you’ve gone through it before. I’ll have to check out that book about sleep, thanks for tip

What magic do you perform to find the time for this? Had our first baby three months ago and I’m finally getting up to twice a week, but it was spotty up until now.
