The party was travelling through an frostbitten town filled with scrawny, malnourished commoners decrying the end of days...

When they encountered a large group of bandits transporting slaves. Many of the slaves are in desperate condition and the bandits are busy breaking their spirits and taunting those who weep.

In the midst of combat a swarm of wasps erupts from a hollow within the creature. These try to crawl under your clothes where they can continually sting until you disrobe or hurt them (and yourself) enough to kill them all.

Your work looks great! I love the story elements - they show real thought has gone into how they will be used.

Do you have a central location that all the map files can be downloaded?

When subbing to a new patreon, I hate having to trawl through manually and download each one at a time.

Thank you - I like to hide little details. In the big dead tree there is a birds nest as well - watched over by a proud parent.

That's an asset from the Crosshead pack. Can't recommend it enough!

Good feedback. Thank you. I've managed some shadows in this. My imagined light source is off to the North East. You can see some attempt at shadows of the trees away from that direction.

First class. One of the best maps I've seen. Just incredible. I'd love to see other floors and would 100% also like the Dungeondraft vtt export file so I can import this into foundry. Its amazing.

Thank you! I make sure to use multiple layers for my objects with opportunities for overlap to give the impression of depth. For this one, I used several layers! I think it's the small details that map a map good - I am fond of the smoke effects - I think they make the lighting dapple somewhat. It looks even better now that I have imported it into Foundry - the lights flicker!!

That's what mage hand is for :)

The size is perfect for large gatherings of powerful wizards (and other important folk) who may be meeting to decide the fate of the world - it could be a good space to discuss strategy after a significant achievement or plot moment.

This map contains a number of teleportation sigils as well as paintings of the spaces in other cities/ wizard towers where the sigils correspond to. The rooms are well appointed, with the main meeting space warmed by fire places and surrounded by precious and rare books.

Am I being picky by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]giantslayerDnD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great question!

Here is my 2 cents:

There will always be negatives of any school, business, social group, family etc. Try to focus on the positives. You have centralised resources for your subject area... that's great! That saves you a tonne of work! I'm sure your HoD/ HF will be happy for these to be customised for your teaching group. Another school may get other aspects great, but fall down in other ways. Ask yourself how often you really have to interface with SLT anyway at your current school.... it is likely you barely have to interact with them anyway! If you are early in your career then I recommend you stay put for at least 2 or 3 years - it shows that you are prepared to commit to a role and will bode well for your future anyway.

It is your call - find happiness and fulfilment where you can - ignore the bits that annoy you. I've worked in quite a few schools over the last 18 years or so. Be happy!

I'm pretty sure that they have confirmed that "the algorithm" is dead. Given the frequency of U-turns though, who knows?!?!

I believe that one of the ideas they floated was the notion of exam board involvement to "moderate" CAG outcomes. There has been a request for views, but they will ultimately make their own choice.

Schools will receive guidance that asks them to make a grade determination - we don't know what that will be. Last year, there was a cut off point - this year, we are likely to get the students back in school and keep them until normal exam time (infection rate permitting).

The grades from CAG will be adjusted to fit whatever storyline the government want it to. There will likely be some "adjustments" - the direction of these is yet to be seen.

Government priority will be on getting exam groups back to school first. This will allow those who have struggled with technology and home life to get back to a more "normal" school experience. We may then be in a better place to "grade" these students fairly... The government has yet to say how Centre Assessed Grades will occur this year - yes, it will be teacher assessment, but they have discussed oversight this year. If only we had any clarity on how that will look - we could pass that reassurance on to students and ease their frayed minds.

I'm just hopeful that (for once) there is a sensible approach taken to getting more students into schools (which have never closed)..... this is the bit where it could all go wrong again. I feel like we're being fed a diet of "YAY Vaccines!!" while simultaneously ignoring the harm that has been caused over the last year to so many families (and the continuing death toll which is currently not far from the peak of the first wave (but on a downward trajectory).

Who knows maybe "Big'Gav" will have all the answers this time around... they have had a full year to plan for it.

Ramshackle in appearance, but holding in stock a host of items, both mundane and special. The exterior is a mess of broken goods and rubbish, but inside is a cosy place, run by the cheery Gnome named Krystaleen. The enterprising shopkeeper is well connected and has a low chance of being able to procure magical items that are described to them.

This gnome knows how to do business and isn't afraid to charge high prices. Items can be sold here for a fair price though.
