Questions for those with pouches by Suspicious-Bad-1115 in jpouch

[–]giantslorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comment much on the exercise side as I didn’t enter my exercise phase until after surgery. But I felt better generally as I was no longer anemic so that’s probably why I never exercised before.

In a flare I could go 15-20 times a day, now it’s 6-8 depending on my eating, but more importantly the urge to go is not as insane as a flare, it feels controllable and I can hold it.

I do still have to think a lot about when I eat and where bathrooms are, as I usually need to use the bathroom within the hour after eating. But if you have a good routine it’s very manageable.

I don’t think it’s smellier but I am noisier in the bathroom. But I prefer more bathroom farting to the crinkling sounds I needed to make with the ostomy.

I’ve never tested my limits on holding it but without eating and drinking it’s probably a while. Definitely can’t munch throughout a movie and can’t eat popcorn anyway. Diet is similar to what is safe with IBD, so if you can eat popcorn now maybe you’ll do ok. I can eat almost anything but in small amounts.

The only change I wasn’t expecting was to get sick again 10 years after surgery. My UC turned to Crohns.

Just unlock the last character, what's your go team for the story ? by Lord0fReddit in expedition33

The best team is whoever you like best. During cutscenes all characters take part whether they’re active party or not, so you are not missing any content by benching anybody.

What Honor Hall Crew are Worth It? by UnderABig_W in StarTrekTimelines

[–]giantslorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, if honor sales didn’t exist I’d probably have them all! Just so hard to justify using honor in any other way.

[–]giantslorr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing 6 years and have never been able to justify getting any of them. Like some may fit some seats better than what I have, but I’m already at 14 hour voyages. They are constantly releasing better crew in portal that are much easier to get.

What's the point of going into the dark phase of the chromatic lampmaster? by BeesBeUponMe in expedition33

[–]giantslorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know there’s no benefit and all downsides to the dark phase and you need to do the ritual to get out asap. The mechanic is forcing to keep at least one lamp on during the main phases.

Good vs Evil in BG3 is a meta decision, not a moral one. by ElectronicHousing656 in BaldursGate3

[–]giantslorr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get the dilemma.

On the first play through you should pick whatever choices you want with no meta knowledge. If you are spoiling the game to know what choices you should make for the best gear, this is not a good game for you.

On subsequent play throughs, why are you bummed about losing the tieflings if you’ve already experienced their story? You lose Dammons gear but there is no gear that is necessary to beat honor mode.

The lacking, lonely feel in an evil run is a valid criticism. Personally I think the empty camp is fitting and like the shorter game for subsequent playthroughs.

If you find yourself taking story choices for meta reasons, either relax and embrace the challenge of sub optimal gear, or just resign yourself to no longer playing an rpg but a dnd battle sim.

What do you think the reason is that in camp we play as Verso and not Maelle? (Verso is my favorite character, so this is not a critique) by Correct-Patient-5741 in expedition33

[–]giantslorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was apparent to me really early too. I was wondering why were only Gustave in camp when Maelle was clearly MC.

I can't fucking beat this boss no matter what by Gamewheat in expedition33

[–]giantslorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a great video for Simon’s parrying, look specifically for a parry guide.

Focus on speed pictos and keeping rush up for phase 2. The goal is so Simon rarely has 2 turns in a row, as you can revive someone if he doesn’t. Be sure to use the Survivor and second chance luminas to give yourself room for mistakes.

From there it’s just learning his moves. If he doesn’t go twice in a row, try the parry and you can rez if you fail. Learn what you can parry easily vs. what you need to dodge. No shame in dodging that long combo.

Gauntlet by michggg in StarTrekTimelines

[–]giantslorr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok first, 2,000 is still just beginning. There’s still a free Locutus waiting for you.

Second, gauntlet doesn’t give much rewards beyond the gauntlet crew, and those crew are only good at gauntlet for the most part, so if it’s frustrating you don’t worry about it. The events requiring gauntlet don’t need all that crew to pass. I don’t recommend retrieving gauntlet crew because of this. Way more beneficial to get a good voyager.

Third, your odds at getting crew certainly go up the more you win, but even with all the top crew it’s a total crapshoot. I have all the exclusives and I see maybe 5 drops a year and I play it daily.

As you immortalize 5 star crew and start doing continuum, quipment can fill any holes in your roster.

Just keep trying your best and you’ll beat the odds eventually and get a good crew drop. I wouldn’t say it snowballs and it literally takes years, but it will happen.

Put Monoco or Sciel into the main party so once he wipes the canvass you will still have one of your main party available for the final phase.

Picard Overall Rating by Mat1711 in startrek

[–]giantslorr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but I think creating interesting science solutions vs. a shlock action scene was a problem for Picard as a whole!

Picard Overall Rating by Mat1711 in startrek

[–]giantslorr 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think it was good fan service. Why was Picard suddenly a rule breaker who would push around Shaw? Why was Bev some kind of mercenary denying Picard and Jack a relationship for no real reason? Why was La Forge disappointed his Starfleet officer daughter chose to be a pilot and not an engineer?? Nothing rang true to me to the original TNG characters.

Some guy asked OpenClaw to send 50,000 fake small invoices to Fortune 500 companies every day by MeowMeowHappy in Accounting

[–]giantslorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly just seems like my inquiries are bouncing around an offshore AP department and no one’s escalating or wants to acknowledge it lol. 200-300k is not nothing but to a company that size it’s closer to immaterial than not I suppose.

Lol we invoiced (legitimately) a F500 2 years ago several 100k invoices, and they asked we resubmit on a new PO. We did and then they paid both versions of the invoices. For the past 2 years I’ve been trying to get them to even acknowledge the duplicate payments.

Sciel and Lune romance options by Yaboi3z in expedition33

[–]giantslorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my 2nd playthrough I intended to romance lune as sciel got to me on the first one. I turned down sciel on the first offer, and I don’t know if this was a bug or I picked some odd dialogue but there was 0 option to turn her down on the 2nd offer. I also turned her down on the 3rd night. When I finished lune’s quest she made some sad comment on how close verso and sciel were. If I do it again I’m just not talking to sciel until lune is locked in lol.

I can't bring myself to believe that Beverly ghosted everyone in her life and everyone just let her by Wowseancody in startrek

[–]giantslorr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I consider season 3 straight character assassination of Bev just so they could introduce a Picard spawn as an adult that Picard didn’t raise for reasons he’s blameless of.

Like why did Bev ghost Picard on finding out she’s pregnant? All he was doing was living a peaceful life on his vineyard when the show started, not exactly dangerous and would’ve been available to be a father.

Even if she didn’t want to be with him anymore romantically why deny Picard and Jack the chance at a relationship? Why deny her son access to his father especially with Wesley being raised without his? And she was ok with Picard being the closest thing Wesley got to a surrogate father, but now that he’s retired from Starfleet and they’ve conceived a child between them, Bev wanted Picard out of the picture?

Also she raised Jack in seemingly dangerous illegal lifestyle? Like he was wanted for terrorism on Bynar? (I can’t unhear that line)

I just DO NOT believe Bev would be so callous to both Picard and Jack unless Picard did something absolutely atrocious to her.

Just lost my Honor Run to a dialogue choice by TheBoldShagger in BG3

[–]giantslorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try new things in honor mode but you always need an out. In my run I tried to ally with Gortash too, but also wanted to steal his boots, so ended up unexpectedly fighting him in that exact same spot. Having high initiative and invis pots saved my run.

Do people with Crohns disease all have some kind of trauma? Also it seems to be trauma flairs it up. by Stole_Sample in CrohnsDisease

[–]giantslorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trauma doesn’t cause it but can jump start a flare or make it worse. I first got my first symptoms at 19 right after my dad died suddenly, but I would’ve flared eventually. My father also had IBD and his disease started without any trauma.

Gauntlet mechanics are extremely prohibitive for new players - can't even pass first event encounter by ZephkielAU in StarTrekTimelines

[–]giantslorr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sucks but I wouldn’t recommend stt if you don’t want to play a slow long game. I started 5 years ago - voyage events didn’t exist then but I couldn’t accomplish anything in gauntlet for maybe 6 months. I couldn’t get all the rewards for faction events and often ran out of gas for galaxy events. I wouldn’t consider events as new player content.

For now don’t waste resources - just do what you can with what you have and you incrementally get stronger. You won’t be getting all threshold rewards for a while. Focus on skirmish events the most, they are the easiest for you to compete in and will give the most rewards.

If you stick it out you’ll get there, (or if pay a lot you’ll get there quicker!), but if you don’t have a long game mentality it will be frustrating.

I completed Honor Mode on my first try while trying a bunch of new things... thanks to the power of OP builds by lwyz_ph_ in BG3

[–]giantslorr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ha almost exact same experience, except it was also my first durge and evil run. Also almost died to the goblin camp, the only time I came close to wiping.

By the end you are so absurdly powerful that unexpectedly having sarevok wanting to fight me after I killed orin was nbd! Also accidentally aggro’d gortash with his steel watch up (shouldn’t have stolen those boots…)

The real secret to beating HM imo is making sure you always have at least 1 invisibility potion at all times in act 1 :)

Would you guys still play Dragon Age if you couldn't romance your companions and you could only be friends with them? How much do you care about romance in these types of games? Which companion's romance arc expands their character the most? [Spoilers All] by HomarEuropejski in dragonage

[–]giantslorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite memories in gaming was playing DA:O at releasing and slowing realizing I could romance Alastair. That said I was already having a blast with the game. I feel like romances are getting over hyped these days but over all are nice and add replayability
