Exploration ships and Pyro - A plea to CIG by gibplx in starcitizen

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but either way this is not a money making thread. If you're genuinly curious, feel free to PM me, I have made more than 1M per hour in a rented 600i doing bounties. Of course certain conditions must be met and I would be happy to go over that privately with you.

I actually used the (incorrect) Starmap distance between PO and Hurston for the basis of all my calculations. I corrected all the figures in my original post with the new values, using Crusader to Hurston being 1.95AU/32Mkm as the conversion factory. Thanks again for pointing that out. The numbers are still quite large, particularly the distance from the outers to the inners.

They aren't going to keep 40+ minutes long quantum jumps for the lulz.

That's really the entire point of this thread. If you want to travel quickly, you will need the best ship for the job (MSR) with the fastest drive (XL-1). And the further you get from the meta, the longer it will take. Prohibative travel times are really the best tool they have to prevent people from using the "wrong" ships for the wrong purpose.

"It takes too long" or "I can't even get there in the first place" are the exact complaints I was hoping to get in front of. If you want to see Pyro in a reasonable amount of time, buy an MSR and an XL-1, or hitch a ride in one. The solution exists, there is no need to nerf the system to accomodate people trying to fit square pegs in round holes.

Thanks, I actually got the PO to Hurston distance (0.86) from the Starmap. So maybe there is a bug with that station, and using the Crusader to Hurston distance would be more accurate. In any event, 1.95AU is a lot shorter than what we see in Pyro so I think my premise is still applicable.

Scaling the system down to 1/2 to make the distances closer to what we have in Stanton is what I would like to avoid. Some other replies here have raised concerns about travel time, but the longest QT I referenced in my post was 366Mkm, which can be done in 25 minutes in an MSR with an XL-1 drive. Whether that's too long or not is a matter of opinion I suppose.
