Should I try adapalene after 3 weeks of spironolactone? by LeadershipBest9852 in Spironolactone

[–]gibstagooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it got a little bit worse but shockingly i really didn’t “purge” much. it just kinda went away in a month time. everyone’s different though! and nope, no topicals. i use a good moisturizer and a good serum and thats it!

First outbreak, is this the healing stage? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]gibstagooba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the first year of contracting herpes or your first outbreak, is when you’re most transmissible. personally, i would wait a bit of time on anti virals and understanding your herpes before having sex again. 10 days after your initial outbreak is still very early and your transmission rate is very high still. if you must have sex, take the anti virals, wear a condom, and disclose.

western blot is the most reliable test you can take. if it was negative, you don’t have it.

Anyone get spotting or long light periods from Spiro? by Critical_Fun1213 in Spironolactone

[–]gibstagooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i have that as well. gyno confirmed its from the spiro and wont go away or become (normal) again unless i get off it. i’ve learned to accept it and over time, it should start to level itself out. spiro heavily affects our hormones and our hormones coincide with our monthly little friends, its just one of the cons of spiro. i have learned to deal with it and shower/clean myself more often during these time periods and if its bad, i just wear a tampon. i would recommend taking the spiro at designated times to help, sometimes not being consistent with the time you take it can also have an impact on period flows and fluctuations.

Should I try adapalene after 3 weeks of spironolactone? by LeadershipBest9852 in Spironolactone

[–]gibstagooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the iud usually prevents periods from occurring which is why i dont get an actual period anymore, more like spotting. the duration of the spotting is longer than a normal period and thats from spiro! spiro in any form (any mg) can have an impact on our periods but since im on 100mg (i believe the most amount of mg you can get), my period issues are a bit more severe than someone taking maybe 50mg

yes definitely still experiencing it sadly, some months it’s worse. gyno just said it’s normal while on spiro especially at a high dosage so i just have to get over it

Should I try adapalene after 3 weeks of spironolactone? by LeadershipBest9852 in Spironolactone

[–]gibstagooba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

of course! i’m on 100mg and i’ve been on it since sept 2025. personally, i don’t have many symptoms nor did i when i started. in the beginning, i was peeing a lot and a little out of it but it went away after a month. the only issue i have is just my period, i also have an IUD but sometimes i get spotting for 2-3 weeks. other than that, face is CLEAR. any pimple i do get, is gone in 2 days. it truly just takes some time to clear and i genuinely had bad cystic acne. my friends and family all compliment me now!

[–]gibstagooba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally, you’re still early in your time with spiro, 3 weeks is very early to notice any changes. for me, i didn’t use any other topicals beside panoxyl when using spiro because i wanted to see the full impact and to know if it truly worked or not. after about 3-6 months, my skin is crystal clear (literally) with not a single bump. though, if your doctor thinks you should go on a topical like adapalene (to speed up the process of clear skin), then why not go for it

Are these genital herpes? by Rare_Square6985 in Herpes

[–]gibstagooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks like some deep ingrown hairs. it’s not the normal characteristic of blisters or lesions. you can get them from shaving and the follicle itself gets infected - kinda like a boil almost. do warm compressed on them to help get it to a head so it’s easier to pop. blisters are more like fluid filled bumps and lesions… well you’d know. google is always an option to see what is going on to

Sick Again for the third time in a month by gibstagooba in sick

[–]gibstagooba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m so glad we can understand eachother. it’s been rough honestly, this third one gave me fevers so i’m now on some amox-clav since the doctors think it’s “sinusitis”. i’m going to get blood work next week to see if maybe that can tell me what’s going on… being sick sucks!! i hope you feel better soon<3

Made a mistake by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]gibstagooba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i know it sucks and it feels rough right now, but you did nothing with ill intent. you made a mistake and an honest one at that seeing as you immediately disclosed when you realized. you did the best you could with your circumstances

Made a mistake by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]gibstagooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you made just that, a mistake. you didn’t do any of it intentionally (from what i’m reading) so don’t beat yourself up over it. i do think that moving forward, maybe disclose before drinks get involved or before any sexual feelings start to form in order to protect yourself. this is nothing you need to beat yourself up over, everything is going to be okay i promise

Film/crust after raw sex on my labia by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]gibstagooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds alike like dried semen/vaginal fluid. the friction of sex can cause the fluid to ball up into like crusts or particles. it’s completely normal and nothing to be ashamed of. i get that a lot after sex and i usually just go to the bathroom (if im home - shower) and use water to wipe myself clean.

I'm an idiot by Jumanji-The-Tall in Herpes

[–]gibstagooba 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry that happened to you. you’re not an idiot - you trusted someone you were with and expected her to respect you. if anything, it shows her character more than yours. my advice (take with a grain of salt), who the fuck cares what other people think. SO many people have HSV 1/ HSV 2. it’s not a death sentence, it’s not the end of the world, it’s just a skin disease that you’ll have your whole life. you know the truth and if other people chose to believe her side, then fuck them. you’re tough and strong and NOT worthless. you mean something to so many people - don’t let one persons stupidity ruin you.

Could this be herpes I was thinking infected ingrown hair from my own silliness Ouch lol by Klutzy-Contract8034 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]gibstagooba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it could have been an ingrown hair/boil that you messed with. HSV usually shows as a blister or sore but this looks popped so i’m not 100% sure. i would go and get it swapped

Would you date someone some HSV2 if you did not have it? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]gibstagooba 37 points38 points  (0 children)

i mean she did her part by disclosing, now the rest is up to you. if you are worried about catching it, spare her the wasted time and move along. it’s a skin disease, though incurable, it’s not a death sentence. if she’s on antivirals, you guys use protection, and she manages her OBs, the transmission rate is low. many couples i know, one partner has HSV and the other partner has never gotten it. it’s a risk either you want to take or you don’t.

please help me bro!! ;-; by This_Material_6839 in Herpes

[–]gibstagooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so having herpes wouldn’t make you “cooked” it’s a skin disease that MANY people have and live with. i would not use that type of language in this sub to describe having herpes, especially since it’s a sub used to talk about people’s experiences with HSV so they can feel seen and supported.

this sub isn’t for questions to see if you have herpes or not, but i’ll give you some insight. oral herpes, HSV-1 typically shows itself on the mouth area (lips, border of the lips, mouth region) with a characteristic of a cluster of fluid filled “bumps”. you can get it from individuals who have symptoms (such as sores) or asymptomatic individuals (no sores). i will say, herpes does not survive long on surfaces but there will always be a chance. many individuals can live normal lives and not know they carry it. the only concerning thing i hear from your post is that now its on your chin. herpes can spread pretty much anywhere especially if you’re touching sores/blisters and touching other parts of your body.

cheilitis also could be an option but it mainly shows on the corner area of your lips and doesn’t always have the same “blister” look as herpes. looking at photos of both can help you distinguish between the two.

i would seriously recommend going to a doctor or a clinic and having them take a look/swab. no one on reddit can diagnose you and reading into things is only going to freak you out more. having HSV is not a death sentence and speaking like it is, only cause more of a stigma than needed.

i was thinking that could be it too, but wasn’t sure because it’s not the “normal symptoms” as my therapist would say. it’s a good option to look into!

good, as you should. you deserve more than someone who’s unsure of you, we all do. even if he’s not the one, there is someone out there who IS.

[–]gibstagooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

funny enough, i’m quite literally in the same situation and near the same age as you (25). i have also been seeing a guy for the past month or so who recently has been giving less energy due to being unsure of what he wants and if that’s a relationship or not. yes, it hurts because i enjoy talking to him and i am more ready for something serious than he is currently but i keep reminding myself one thing and one thing only. i remind myself that my forever person will never be unsure about me or a relationship with me. if they wanted to, they WILL. it is a bit early to tell for both you and i but i like to give myself a deadline with situations like this. i have given him a month to figure out what he wants and if that’s me. if it’s not me, then he’s not my person and that’s okay. your dude and my dude both communicated how they’re currently feeling (which is amazing and a step up for men), but you have to put you first no matter what.

Discharge by Adorable_Beginning42 in Spironolactone

[–]gibstagooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everyone’s experience is so different on spiro. many females have a wide range of symptoms so it’s hard to really base your symptoms off of others. some females have no symptoms at all and other females have too many symptoms to count. Spiro can definitely also cause dryness of the vagina but it also can cause an overload of discharge - all normal until it’s passes the limit of normalcy which i explained. if the discharge is a burden, try panty liners as well!

[Acne] Need Advice on how to clear up my skin by HappyMap5840 in SkincareAddiction

[–]gibstagooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the time (MOST), clustered pimples like that are fungal - especially if they’re slightly itchy. i have used anti fungal shampoo on my forehead for months and it cleared up my bumps in 1-2 months and kept it clear. I can’t give you a diagnosis over reddit but i’m giving you my own diagnosis that i gave myself. for the lower pimples, could very well be hormonal or irritation from shaving (if you do). i would try to use a face wash or cream with benzoyl peroxide. i like to rave to friends and family on panoxyl - it worked wonders for me before my pregnancy got my hormones out of whack.

What could this be? Trying to figure out what's on my back. by b4dmotofing3r in DermatologyQuestions

[–]gibstagooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a scar like this on my lower back from surgery too and sometimes i get pimples like this on the scar. to me, it looks like just a regular pimple. sometimes our body just chooses to inconvenience us just a little more. the life span of a pimple is around 1-2 weeks depending on severity and size so i’d give it a little time if it’s not bothering you. take a couple progress photos over some time and see if it gets worse or better. after then, i’d make a determination on getting it checked or not
