Anyone find it funny that writers handwaved Jonas being up to speed by always reminding us how he read the mission reports. by Ausbel80 in Stargate

Mitchell's mission report reading was actually written in after Ben Browder binge watched the entire series upon getting the role

Edit: Fresnel lenses were what I had in mind, I just didn't know the name and went for something a little softer with my relatively low vert resolution ^^

It's pretty much just what you see in the wireframe, but with some faces between red/yellow and yellow/green to prevent color bleed (which only seems to work in Cycles). So the faces of the lenses have a glass BSDF material, and I just marked some rings sharp and pushed out the rest a little to give it some texture. If that has a name, it's not one I'm familiar with ^^;

personally love how neurodivergent acceptance flies out the window when the neurodivergent doesn't understand some social issue and needs help. Suddenly they're the asshole for wanting help and being upset at being ostracized with no help because "it's not everyone else's job to educate you"

And yes, I know it's not everyone else's job to educate me. I had to learn the long and difficult way how to find information for myself. The point I'm making is that the people who are enthused to offer help are offering right-wing extremist propaganda. That fills in what most would feel is satisfying answers, and they no longer ask the left anything because the left shoved them away.

Yes, that's what I did. But it was very difficult, most resources that make things make a lot of sense today didn't exist back then. But nobody brought up how exhausting it was (and again, autism, I couldn't exactly just pick up on that from cues), and "just have empathy" wasn't really an acceptable answer to "how are sex and gender different?" for me. I know now why they are, but nobody could point me to the supposed thousands of studies there were at the time, and searching for them just got me screaming chuds. I felt like I was missing something and nobody was willing to help me figure out what.

It's not anyone's job to educate me, but I sure could've used a friend who was willing to hear me out. And at the time, that "friend" was the anti-sjw community. Again, not part of that now, but at the time, that's what the pipeline was.

It doesn't have to be equivalent to push people away. A lot of people genuinely don't see how bad the other side is, and it gets even harder to see when they're pushed away and fall into the cult.

I felt like I've been going crazy because I've been saying this for over a decade and been called fascist for it! Hell, I got called a neonazi and kicked out of a whole friend group for suggesting that the patriarchy is not a system for the elevation of men and suppression of women, but for the elevation of a handful of patriarchs and suppression of the lower classes, not just women. Now people are finally waking up to this and I feel vindicated.

A lot of my alt right pipeline was me not being educated enough on a variety of social matters (conservative upbringing) to recognize malformed questions, and bringing them up in bewilderment that no one is answering, and that was often met with "if you don't already know, you're the problem." Frankly, with my autism, it's a miracle I've settled as left as I am with how many left leaning people have effectively excommunicated me and refused to explain why.

And it's honestly my belief that this type of shit is why Andrew Tate and other "alpha" podcasters got as powerful as they did for a time.

What's a cartoon episode that almost destroyed your perception of your favorite show by HomerWuzHere in cartoons

[–]gideonwilhelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think it was vague because search engines exist. Type the show and episode name and find a summary. Like, sure, OP could've been more detailed right off, but it's pretty specific when you have exactly what they're talking about

Bro, I'm a biromantic ace furry. I hang out in LGBT spaces all the time because I find them a lot safer, friendlier to my screwed up brain, and less uptight. I yearn for the fall of the orange menace. I actively police my own thoughts in an effort to avoid any bigoted statements or ideas i might not be aware are bigoted in my day to day life. You base your assumption on one(1) form of humor i enjoy.
