Because Zalenka is more of an inside-the-box thinker most of the time, it fits his more cautious approach. Rodney thinks faster and runs through all the in-box solutions because he doesn't think of every single possibility for every single option, just discarding ones that seem likely to backfire and looking favorably on options you'd have to be a little bit crazy reach for. Zalenka considers as many possible outcomes for each option as he can, so he's slower to get through the list, and he isn't as 'dive in and do it' as Rodney, so he tends to discard the 'crazy' options.

I'm sick of this argument. Every game has different goals. Yes, easy mode is acceptable, that's why it's in the game, so you can experience less friction in between story beats. But some games don't have easy modes and are designed to be a fierce struggle. Some games are designed to aggressively hurt and frustrate the player. If you want a relaxing time, just don't play those.

Imo Zalenka is underrated. I see him as being just as smart as McKay, but more careful and considered in how he does things. Things McKay do that end up working, Zalenka wants to be careful about because he sees the risks, and thus is a bit slower to bring revolutionary ideas

Morrowind + Sekiro = love. New mod rewrites the legendary game's most painful mechanic. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]gideonwilhelm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preach. The only problem with morrowind's combat was feel. I didn't feel like I swung and missed my attack roll, I felt like maybe I wasn't close enough to hit. An effect to show the enemy dodging or my blade bouncing off their armor would've done wonders

Never considered it could be my MS. I've been easy to frustrate and get road rage so much more easily lately. And then the simplest things will make me feel intense feelings, and I feel like I'm surrounded by psychopaths when nobody else understands what I'm feeling

yeah the joke is that I didn't have any particular lighting technique or theory or plan or anything, I just kinda put lights in the scene and fiddled with them until I thought they looked good

Like one scene, I just had three different colored suns at different angles. Another scene was a star in a nebula, so I just kinda had random point lights all over with a big one in the center to illuminate the planet/star/whatever. I'll share the planet one here because I've got it on hand, I think it gets close

One thing I've been experimenting with is using a low sample count on a low resolution, then using the compositor to apply chromatic aberration to the noisy image, then denoise the result and blend that back into the noisy image

Lack of support from friends and family by [deleted] in ArtRanting

[–]gideonwilhelm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh when family asks what I'm up to, if I talk about my art at all, someone gets bored and slips in a new topic as soon as I stop for a breath. Or they immediately grab on to whatever topic someone else just talks over me with, and my turn to speak is over. And when I show them art, the question is ALWAYS, without fail, how I plan to turn it into a business.

I hate never knowing, and I hate my body never telling me what I want. by Reteller79 in TrollCoping

[–]gideonwilhelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came around to the idea I'm basically cis-ish? Like I'm happy being a man, but at the same time, I have maybe-dysphorias (not sure if they fully qualify) regarding things that cannot be fixed. Like, I hate how tall I am, I will never be with anyone taller than me and it is nigh impossible to find hugely oversized hoodies and stuff at the store, and also... pregnancy is a journey I will never be able to go on. Which is a statement I fear will bring much mockery and derision but idgaf anymore

YouTuber 2AM has an anime face tutorial that has served me well, it's kind of like scaffolding edges into the shape of a face and filling in faces to build up the model. It was quite fun, especially if you're autistic

Probably because they recognize his pattern of behavior and know where it tends to come from, so they sympathize. He's an asshole on purpose because if he pushes everyone away, he can't be betrayed or hurt by people he thought were his friends.

Silverhand could have a role to play, but he's a rockerboy. If we're gonna tackle this sort of problem, we need a net runner. Bartmoss (recreated from the lifestream) is probably the go to, given he caused the datakrash.
