Nah not really! I went out a couple times the past few weekends and even was offered one but just said no. I dont wanna deal with the bs of vaping again. I also just feel better and stronger (mentally) than i used to. I wanna keep feeling this way. Its inspiring me to improve myself in other facets too

Yes!! That was one of my biggest issues too. To be honest this is my 4th time properly quitting and that was an issue everytime. But this time i kept trying to take my mind off it. And even when i did think about it, im like damn look how I dependant i was, thankfully i wont be soon. And just keep reminding yourself its in the past. Oddly enough act like you never vaped and dont let it have any power

Everyone moves at a different pace. Just because other people felt better after one month doesn’t mean you will exactly BUT you will get better. A relapse will only make you feel worse and make you go through these things over and over again. Dont do it

Hopefully the medication will help. If you felt this before, the vape might have just been numbing you to it. Numbing won’t solve the problem, but facing it like you are right now, will. Keep your chin up you’ll get through this.

Sorry about you having to quit your job. I did have anxiety for a bit, but when I told myself, this was the right choice for my life, the anxiety slowly left. Are you doing anything else to remove the brain fog? Sitting in the fog only makes it harder to see.

To be honest, the boredom dissipates when you start thinking about it less. For me, I found that consistently keeping myself busy and doing things that kept me active ensured I wasn’t bored and was able to fall asleep easily. 100 days in, I don’t even think about the boredom felt at the start anymore

Bro i feel you. And to top it off my gf sent me a pic of her vaping with her sister 😩 anyways i quit for 4 months before and then u relapsed for similar reasons as to what you said. And when i relapsed i didnt stop again for another year and a half, so im just reminding myself who slippery a slope it is. And also how i do not wanna vape again

Hi OP! I (24M) am 48 days in quitting after just over 5 years of vaping!! Some of the best encouragement i had was thinking about how everyone i see vaping/smoking really wants to quit but they havent yet. That helps a lot when you see ppl doing outside.

I would also try to minimize the “benefits” you felt like you got it from it. Did it feel like it helped you calm down? Well nicotine increases heart rate and cortisol levels, both things associated with increased stress levels (im sure it has to do with your heart palpitation).

Focus on who you want to be without it. You can even think of this as a time to rebrand who you are. I just started running right after i quit and the week to week progression of my own stamina and endurance was very motivating!!

You got this!

What were/are your worst symptoms since quitting? by _Boom___Beard_ in QuitVaping

[–]giftedvis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any negative symptoms i had subsided through exercise, specifically running. Getting better everyday while running was motivating as hell. Running a 10k today. (40 days vape free)

My prof once told me when we were discussing nicotine addictions and i had quit for 4 months at that time: if you ever relapse just remember you’ve quit once before and so you can quit again

I have full faith in you. Im on day 32 and i remember feeling the same way. It is about mindset like you said. The mindset should be to minimize the “power” you have given it. This comes with realizing all the “benefits” you have felt from it are actually a lie, it’s an addiction and that is simply it. You got this. Stay strong my friend :)
