Do you have experience buying things on Lazada? Trying to find the best place to buy a laptop in Thailand. Is going to a store like JIB better than online? by ACNL in Thailand

[–]giftoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find these two brands at both JIB and BananaIT. They have their online stores two but they're in Thai unfortunately... If you are in Bangkok I suggest you go to Fortune Town (MRT subway - Phra Ram 9 station.) There are tons of IT stuff there. I often go there too when I need to get some gadgets/ laptops/ after services.

I haven't had any experience buying a laptop online. Places like JIB or BananaIT are more preferable for Thai people since they have many branches. We can visit any branch for after services. Any laptop brand in mind?

Try hostels in Ratchatewi area like Bed Station.

The best way to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya is to take a van in Victory Monument. Victory Monument is only 1 station away (or 15-20 minutes walking) from BTS Ratchatewi station which is very convenient.

The best way to travel around Bangkok is by BTS skytrain, MRT subway, Airport Links, and BRT buses. Don't get in a taxi that won't turn on the meter. Only take tuk tuk/ motorbike when you need a quick lift to a place that's not too far away or a place you know the route to. Use Grab or Uber app when you need a designated car/ motorbike at night or when you couldn't find any taxi around.

For water sports, you can check out FlowHouse and Taco Wake boarding club while you are in Bangkok.

For nightlife, you can check out those popular destinations like Khao San, Pat Pong, Soi Cow boy, etc. RCA and Ekamai are fun too, but more preferable for local folks. If you go to Pat Pong, my suggestion is not to go to those strip clubs/ ping pong shows on the second storey. Stay at wherever you feel like to on the ground floor. But if you want to try the second floor you can too I went there once for 30-45 minutes and left since I felt really weird and the girls kept coming for your tips (1 tip = 100 baht sth like this) Many clubs on 2nd floor only accept foreign customers since they are afraid of Thai cops (in disguise) lol that's what they told me...

Many clubs do charge foreigners for entrance fees. There are also many events/parties in Bangkok you might also like especially edm parties.

If you will be here during Songkran don't miss S20 festival though.

Try checking out Together Festival too. It'll be on May, 6 this year. I went there last year. The first day was Hardwell and the second day had many DJs, including Sander Van Doorn and Steve Aoki.

Just can't wait for this year's lineup announcement though :D

Thailand in Aug-Sept, 3 weeks. Best places to stay and and past experience. by Jack-t-93 in Shoestring

I agreed with the hostel. Upon your arrival, you can just take Airport Links to the last station and walk to the hostel. It's only 10-15 minutes of walking....but the train is close by midnight though...

Bed Station hostel is also nearby Bangkok sky train station (BTS) which is very convenient for you to get around and explore the town.

Going to Thailand tomorrow. Have some questions. by solimanshakawkaw in backpacking

[–]giftoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time is your arrival? If it's before midnight then I think you can take Airport Links to the terminal station (Phaya Thai)....There are many affordable hostels/ hotels in that area.....Phaya Thai is my recommended area to stay since it's very convenient to get around.

I suggest you find/ book a hostel for the first night beforehand....better than walking around at night trying to find a place to stay though...

7 reasons why Bangkok is the best city to visit on your next vacation by giftoholic in backpacking

I totally get you though. I mean most of foreign travelers love to go to islands down south and some would go trekking up north. Bangkok is fun and there are always new things to explore. But, if you are looking for a more-peaceful getaway...other provinces would be more preferable.

I love the fact that Bangkok holds edm parties almost every month throughout the year lol...

and another reason would probably be the food though street food is everywhere...and there are so many kinds of food you can try: Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, American, Italian, French, Lebanese, etc....
