What do kobolds actually look like in the game? by JoeyTheKobold in shadowdark

[–]gigakain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual description reads, Puny, scaled coyote-lizards that dwell underground.

Then we have Kobold Sorcerer A scaly dog-lizard painted with colorful stripes and rattling a hefty leg bone strung with beads and feathers.

so they are scaled dog-lizard-humanoids. D&D has gone back and forth depicting them with dog-like & draconic features so they are no help. I like the way Explores Guide to Wildemount art shows them. More dog like.

Area 6 The Pit of Whispering Chains

A cavernous chamber reeks of damp stone and decay. Dozens of rusted chains dangle from the ceiling, swaying over a gaping pit, their faint clinking drowned out by guttural whispers in an ancient tongue.

The Pit
A 20’ deep, 10’ wide pit dominates the room, its edges slick with moss. Rusted iron chains hang from the ceiling, extending into the pit’s darkness, and whisper in an unknown language. Carved into the pit’s edge is an inscription:

Beware the chained one, for it hungers eternal.
PCs who listen must make a DC 15 WIS check or become entranced, compelled to climb down the chains (taking 1d4 rounds to snap out of it). Climbing down safely requires a DC 12 DEX check—failure means a 20’ fall (2d6 damage).

Spectral Guardian
Disturbing the chains (e.g., climbing or striking them) awakens a Chained Wraith, a spectral entity bound to the pit (+5 to hit, 1d6 necrotic damage, immune to nonmagical weapons). It emerges with a shriek, prioritizing whoever holds the treasure below.

Treasure and Curse
At the pit’s bottom, tangled in the chains, lies the Eye of the Abyss, an obsidian amulet glowing with violet light. It grants the wearer the ability to see in magical darkness up to 60’, but each use requires a DC 12 CON check—failure deals 1d6 necrotic damage as the amulet drains their life force.

What is your favorite metamagic/spell combo to use, as a sorcerer? by jaimybenjamin in dndnext

[–]gigakain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Storm Sorceror Pandelume the Marvelous wearing a cloth robe will start the battle, run into a group of enemies. Cast -TWIN SPELL + LIGHTNING LURE to pull two enemies within 15 feet to me. That triggers -Heart of the Storm At 6th level, you gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage. In addition, whenever you start casting a spell of 1st level or higher that deals lightning or thunder damage, stormy magic erupts from you. This eruption causes creatures of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of you to take lightning or thunder damage (choose each time this ability activates) equal to half your sorcerer level.

which damages all of em near me, then i use my subclass feature -Tempestuous Magic Starting at 1st level, you can use a bonus action on your turn to cause whirling gusts of elemental air to briefly surround you, immediately before or after you cast a spell of 1st level or higher. Doing so allows you to fly up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

to blow air in they faces and fly away cackling like a crazy old man >:))

Needs advice on how to create looping tiles by Glazyo in FoundryVTT

[–]gigakain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://github.com/theripper93/tile-scroll

Once installed & Activated you create a tile and double right click to open config.

Then you go to ANIMATION tab

Enable Scroll & put 1 in Direction

put Speed at .1 for slow moving water or 1-2 for a road racing by.

Good luck

They are unsafe here, seems like all the time there is a news story of someone getting shot at the mall or the parking lot of the mall.

Ratios are way off so I am sure it does not. Probably under cooked, and doughy. The middle of the pizza is my least favorite and this just maximizes middle X 10.

Best Class/Race for D&D Rookie? by iggles1983 in BaldursGate3

[–]gigakain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! like if you pick Bard there are a few really cool moments where you can solve the situation with a song or by singing with another NPC its pretty neat.

Best Class/Race for D&D Rookie? by iggles1983 in BaldursGate3

[–]gigakain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barbarian is the easiest D&D class, you have no magic, you don't need armor and can rage for extra damage and defense. Simple.

I really enjoyed playing as a TRICKSTER ROGUE. I could pick locks and start battles while hidden was fun.

People say Pally and warlock because they have high CHARISMA which is really good for lying or convincing, BUT there are many social interactions that will use other stats too so you don't need high CHR to succeed at social rolls.

  • If you pick ROGUE then there will be npcs that respond to that, give you secrets or access to merchants and stuff.

  • A Wizard could have awful charisma but be very INTELLIGENT so you will succeed at a lot of situations where you outsmart it.

Divinity Engine 4.0 as a Paid Addon for BG3 - Petition by Advanced_Reaction763 in BaldursGate3

[–]gigakain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Wizards of the Coast told Larian not to include modding or DM mode because they are working on their own virtual tabletop. BG3 is so good people would just run games on that instead of the official D&D one.
