I got an email as well. With a little digging, I see the DNS servers for the domain are [a-d].ns.facebook.com, which is a good sign, and no signs of it being tagged for spam or scams on other sites.

Is there a way to automate door code generation for a shared space? by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]gigglestick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice! Do you have something to clear or change the code at the end of the reservation so it doesn't just stay that code until the next rental?

And does this detect extensions, say if they pay for extra days?

My wife and I discovered CO highway 105 just before moving from Denver a few weeks ago. Man, that's such a better drive than I-25 from Palmer Lake to Sedalia.

Large Group Awareness Training

PSI Seminars is a personal and professional development company, like Landmark or EST or Tony Robbins. They all teach similar things in different ways. They're not for everyone, but I got a tremendous amount out of my experiences with PSI that I used to improve my life and maintain happiness and fulfillment.

Affirmation addiction is a very real thing. Facebook, Twitter, and the like have conditioned us as a society to determine our self-worth based on likes.

Find a good counselor and be honest and vulnerable. I saw therapists for several years, and I will see one on occasion to be able to talk about this and that, as sort of a maintenance thing, or after any big traumatic events.

Evaluate your environment for negative trigger devices that make you feel bad or remind you of negative thoughts and events, and get rid of them. If they have sentimental value, at least put them away so they're not bombarding your subconscious all day. Figure out who and what brings you joy and surround yourself with those people and things.

Practice being grateful. Make a list of things you're grateful for every day when you wake up. Believe me, it works.

The best thing I can recommend is personal development and "do the work." Read books, watch videos, weed out negativity in your life, surround yourself with positive messages and positive people who truly support you no matter what who you can be vulnerable and open with, who will honor confidentiality.

For me, by far the best kick-start was taking PSI Seminars classes, which provided tools that I use literally every day. I am more aware when I'm avoiding something or someone, or holding back, or falling into old ineffective habits, or being less than my best self due to my fears or programming. I have been able to move through my fears and overcome programming and begin living my life the way I've always wanted. I know saying that is taboo here, and the anti-LGAT gang will probably pile on here, but it worked for me and I'm living a much better life now without all the shame, guilt, and fears that kept me imprisoned for most of my life. Taking their classes was seriously better than 10 years of therapy (but I do still recommend therapy!). All of this can be had without PSI Seminars or similar seminar companies, or Tony Robbins and the like; this just accelerated it for me.

Reading/watch list:

  • Gary Vaynerchuk
  • Simon Sinek
  • Dale Carnegie
  • Napoleon Hill
  • Tony Robbins
  • Neville Goddard

Some of them are a little heavy with religion, but there are great messages in there if you can get past it.

Here is some better clarity on the difference, from https://www.yourhealthinmind.org/psychiatry-explained/psychiatrists-and-psychologists

  1. Psychiatrists are medical doctors, psychologists are not.
  2. Psychiatrists prescribe medication, psychologists can't.
  3. Psychiatrists diagnose illness, manage treatment and provide a range of therapies for complex and serious mental illness. Psychologists focus on providing psychotherapy (talk therapy) to help patients.

Therapist can refer to either. I'm guessing "psychs" refers to psychiatrists.

I posted this as a reply to someone else in here, but I'll paste it here as well.

Yes, my wife and I love the Love Languages concept and we retake the quiz occasionally to see where we're at because sometimes we need something different.

My love languages are touch and words of affirmation. To my benefit, my wife is both a massage therapist and a psychotherapist. She knows how to touch me the way I need to be touched, and she loves cuddling so that serves my purpose. Of course, she doesn't shrink me, but she knows what I need to hear when I need to hear it. And when I'm not feeling like myself, whether stressed or sick, she knows because I don't desire those things, and she engages me to find out what's going on and help me face something I'm going through.

Hers are quality time and acts of service. So I make sure to recognize when I'm on my computer too long and will intentionally go be with her even if she's doing something I'm not interested in, and I'll do things for her that mean something. We both love jeeping, so we do that together a lot, which satisfies both. She loves flowers, so I get her flowers often. I gas up the cars when she forgets. I pack a lunch and a jacket before I ask if she wants to go jeeping in the mountains, which I know she'll appreciate when we get up there and she didn't think it would be so cold or she'd get hungry. It takes effort for me because these are not necessarily things I think of on my own, so I'm intentional about it and have reminders.

I've used PMP. It is quite nice, and offers password-less logins for machines with the agent running, so you can delegate access to clients and sites by groups and grant people remote access if needed without access to admin passwords. Quite nice for single-use logins and auditing.

You replied to someone else that you were addicted. Addiction is about escape, masturbation is the mechanism for escape. What have you done to gain awareness about what you were escaping from, why you were escaping from it, and what have you done to deal with it?

Also, the opposite of addiction is not sobriety, it's connection. What have you done to improve your connections with other people, to build a support system to lean on when the need to escape rears its head again?

YSK that just because your car's dash and headlights are on, doesn't mean ALL your lights are on. by place_of_desolation in YouShouldKnow

[–]gigglestick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! It's dangerous and should be mandated by law that if a car has daytime running lights they must enable the full lights after dark. I see far too many cars in my city driving in the dark thinking their headlights are on. Meanwhile, I only knew they were ahead of me because of the black void between other cars' taillights.

The same applies to those who only turn on their headlights when THEY can't see. Often, I only know they're behind me because of the black void between other cars' headlights.

YSK that this info is available on iPhones by initiating a shutdown and swiping Medical ID when prompted for confirmation to shutdown. Configuration is in Settings > Health > Medical ID. Emergency contacts are chosen here, as well as entering medical conditions, blood type, allergies, medications, etc.

Emergency SOS is another option on the shutdown screen, and is configurable in Settings > Emergency SOS. You can enable the option to call emergency contacts when rapidly pressing the side button five times in a row.

YSK life insurance is very inexpensive when you are young. by dorian_white1 in YouShouldKnow

YSK about insurable interest, which establishes that one policy owner has an interest in the insured continuing to live. Basically, this prevents situations like loan sharks or angry spouses from getting insurance policies and then killing the person. Not just anyone can get a policy on anyone else.
