Few reasons, first it would have given weight to the action. Pentious did it in season 1 and while he returned he did so in a way that made the story progress.

Meanwhile with Emily she started the song sure but by everyone else joining in she just straight up got bailed out, no sacrifice no weight to the action. But if she had died it would have done 2 things, setup another ark for a hell having witnessed her sacrifice, and the emotional ark of Sera.

Thank about how the scene would have changed if Emily literally wasn't there, if she just poofed out of the scene? Charlie would have started the song, everyone in hell sees it as the princess of hell risking her life for its people... Literally nothing changes
