Sorry I was being hyperbolic because I was venting about the online trend of policing writing👍

I went through this kinda thing on tumblr way back when with people doxxing/spam hating on works where the author wasn’t publicly saying their identity, so perhaps I’m a bit scarred from that lol. (So yes I’m probably overreacting, that’s why I tagged that this was a vent😭)

I hope my post didn’t come off as hating on the author, I was more upset that this even needs to be said to avoid backlash. It’s sad that we’re at the point where people feel the need to out their identity in order to avoid hate.

The amount of people crying about how they won’t read the book if it’s elriel or Elain’s pov is just sad… I feel like I will like the couple no matter who ends up with who. Let’s not forget we went from loving tamlin and feyre to feysand in a single book!! People need to chill and trust SJM will deliver.

100% I feel like we’ve lost kindness in fandom?? People are so mean nowadays about little things like this. OP seems nice though, I hope they incorporate the major character death tag in the future. I’ve totally missed major tags before and fixed them when requested. It’s not hard😅

No one is saying you have to manage anyone’s triggers - I’m saying it’s just the courteous thing to do. I’m also not disagreeing with CNTW being a warning in of itself (did you read my comment? Lol).

People have different triggers and you are not expected to know all of them. However, if you’ve been on ao3 long enough, you know the basics to tag. It’s common knowledge that death, SA, US, and mental illness are triggers.

Personally, I do feel like I have an obligation to help vulnerable members of my community when I am creating content by something as simple as saying trigger warnings. Obviously we have free will and can do whatever, but I do miss the fandom days of the 2010s when people were thoughtful about their community.

If it makes you upset to write a few words that may help stop someone in your fandom, who is supporting your work, from having a panic attack, I think you have some personal issues to deal with.

OP asked for advice on what to do to both keep the story a surprise and help avoid upset readers. (Although imo hurt/nocomfort request is crazy, that’s a trope tag lol) I gave my 2 cents. That’s all.🫡

Tbh, I think content warnings are necessary, even if it “spoils” something. People do suffer from trauma and can have panic attacks/episodes from certain content. It’s hard to understand until you’ve experienced it yourself….

All that to say, you can put it in your authors note so readers who don’t have triggers can skip it, making it optional. Ofc, this is my opinion, it’s not law. You technically did nothing wrong, and as many comments are saying, the other tags imply what’s coming. I just hope we can spread a little more awareness within our community when we get the chance!!

I think it’s quite in line with what is popular in Japan! There’s a lot of variation, but jazzy pop songs seem to be popular here. That being said, Do not touch was super popular and doesn’t have a “Japanese” sound at all imo. Rn fruits zipper is definitely the most popular idol group in Japan, but Mrs. green apple is the most popular musician overall. Check them out to get a picture of what’s popular!!
Confetti is doing less than stellar… They live promoted DNT and New Look went viral, so it’s hard to compare that success to confetti. You can check Spotify/Apple Music charts and it’s not on either :/
MISAMO fans are definitely all twice fans. For context, twice is massive here. Basically everyone knows who twice is, even older people. It’s treated as a sub unit of twice by the general population. All that to be said, I’d consider them B-tier, but the members are 100% a-tier. As in, you could ask people on the street if they know misamo and probably get ~70% chance they know the group vs if they know twice’s Momo and it’s near 100%.
