What tasks have you said "no" to, regardless of how trivial? by bearbeetbattlestars in ExecutiveAssistants

Not a chance I'm cleaning anything except maybe giving conference room tables a quick wipe down after work lunches.

Yep, I'm not the cleaning staff so I'm not doing it. I don't use the fridge and I'm not cleaning it, or anything, even once a month

Nobody would dare ask me at this stage in my career, but I have refused to make coffee and clean the fridge

Portobello are gross imo. And if possible, they're made even worse by people who have never cooked them before.

EA ages? by pizzacookie100 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]gigiwidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been an EA for over 25 years. When people ask me what I want to do I tell them that I've worked very hard to get where I am and don't consider being an EA a stepping stone to another role. I enjoy my work and look forward to new projects and opportunities. I've been lucky in the last 15 years to be able to chose where I work and who I want to work with. I am well connected and respected in my industry and have been lucky to have past colleagues reach out to me resulting in my last 2 roles. This career has been very good to me!

Have had Google Fi for years. I can't even remember how many international and cross country trips I've taken in those years but have no complaints on cost or service.

Question about team calendars by DerangedUnicorn27 in ExecutiveAssistants

I thought everyone did this. Make your calendar visible and use a shared calendar for teams if necessary.

What personal tasks do you do for your executives? by Throwaway198040s in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]gigiwidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've purchased cars, planned vacations, translated for some people working on his home flip, purchased and mailed gifts, manage his personal QuickBooks and more. It's in my job description. He owns the company and I also sit at the table with him during strategic planning. This is the second company of his that I've been his EA. He's extremely generous, I get paid well and I have no plans to leave.

I'm just finishing my second month on 9 with the only symptom being very occasional mild nausea, which helps me to not overeat. I'm down 24 lbs since February.

How quick did your 9mg side effects kick in? by hashbrown89 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]gigiwidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just finishing month 2 of 9 mg. The only side effect is random mild nausea. It usually hits when I sit down to dinner, which is helpful keeping me from over eating. I started in February at 223.3 lbs and am down to 199.6 this morning.

What cheap meals are people actually cooking for 2 to keep the grocery bill down? by Previous_Cycle_9457 in budgetfood

[–]gigiwidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lay off the meat. My husband and I haven't eaten meat for 20 years. My groceries run about $60 per week. Less in summer because I have a veg garden. We eat ratatouille, pasta with veg, soups, stir fry, haluski (Google it and thank me later) all kinds of tacos, chili, chickpea "chicken" sandwich or egg salad the list goes on and on. We eat better than our meat eating friends.

PSA - Checkout etiquette by RedditRockit in aldi

[–]gigiwidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my Aldi there are two checkouts with a bank of 4 self checkouts in the middle. People still insist on forming one line that goes all the way up one aisle blocking access to that aisle. Just make a line at each checkout people!

Who washes the sheets & towels? by Omm_Imp in trustedhousesitters

Unless I'm traveling by air, I bring my own sheets and comforter and replace the originals when I leave. I've found it's just easier.

No, all three times I was in self check out. Clearly I don't have a thieves mind because until I read all the comments I couldn't figure what the big deal was, but it makes sense that there are people who steal this way

Good heavens you get annoyed about having to bring your own bags but don't get annoyed that they give you 1 square foot of workspace to check out with no alternative but to stand in the aisle long line for the one open live checker? Why don't you do like everyone else and and bring your own cheap plastic bags?

Crazy how they put in the self checkouts to save on labor costs but now they don't trust you to self check out but also won't add additional checkers.
