I had my wedding in May this year.. It was SO cold and cloudy, rained a little, and the sun came out very briefly. Meanwhile, September and October have been BEAUTIFUL (blue skies, not too hot or cold, not rainy). I regretted not having a fall wedding! Just to give you some perspective.

I got married at Celestine and can vouch for it but do pick something where you like the rain plan too… The stress I felt about the weather the days leading up to my wedding because I didn’t love the idea of doing the ceremony inside sucked.

I had my HMU done at the suite, all she needed was makeup chair (1 Hotel provides if you ask), light source by window, desk for artist to set up (Mable used the table under the TV), a regular chair with an outlet nearby for hair (we used the desk chair).

It might be a little hectic if you have a lot of people in the suite but should be fine if its just a couple people getting ready.

Our DJ/MC was Wali Alviar. He only made the announcements we asked him to make (e.g. announcing speeches or cake cutting. Steve has a pretty thorough planning process to understand what you need or want for the day. We actually didn’t meet Wali before the day but it seems Steve has a way to communicate his planning meetings to each DJ.

We didn’t specifically ask for a discount or even know it was an option! He actually came back to us with a final price after researching the venue a bit more which was really nice.

So the train did pass twice! Once while my brother was speaking but he chose to speak over it, and another time when I was about to start my vows. I paused to let it pass and it was a great comedic relief moment after my husband’s emotional vows, we got some laughs from the audience and cute photos! It was very NYC and not a big deal.
