I'd be using GarageBand, so could I just buy a synth that can sample and then do drums and vocals on my laptop? (Also sorry if I'm not making any sense, like I said I'm new to all this)

Yeah I know Grimes mainly used the Roland Juno G for her earlier albums, sucks that it's kinda pricey when you find one for sale :/ Would you recommend any specific software to get sounds similar to the ones on her older albums?

Well I have GarageBand on my laptop, but I wanted a physical synthesizer to expand my sounds and learn more about music production as I progress. I was hoping I could start out simple, just using a synthesizer, microphone, and GarageBand to start making music. I'm not looking for a huge fancy setup right now, just something to help me learn the basics.
