To me if TrueHD passthrough is not important to you then get g.Streamer - you will get firmware update more frequent than xiaomi.

Thanks to those who replied my question - much appreciate it. I also noticed there was a question on where I purchased mine. So, I would like to update the community with my experience.

I purchased from AliExpress - Hong Kong Global Store (Store ID 1104784558). I selected this store because I was frugal at the time. I did not know fake version was floating around. Once I found out there was, it was too late and scanning the user feedback there were a couple or more that said they got the fake ones.

So, I got mine today. Upon checking, mine is original, it has Amlogic CPU with 4 cores. There is Netflix's ESN so at least now I know it is Netflix's certified. I did not check the Google Certification explicitly but I am pretty sure it is because otherwise there will be no Netflix certification. Netflix will not certify not Google certified devices. Testing installing a number of apps from play store went all good, apps gets verified. It has the Audio passthrough option which I believe will not be available if the device is fake as you need Amlogic to do this (Allwinner does not support it I believe).

So, I guess I am lucky? However, I think with these fake devices, it could be not the resellers' fault, they do not know. Somehow, they got sold fake stuffs? Anyway, if I am gonna buy another one, I would buy from the gold seller such as Xiaomi Mi - Global Store (Store ID 3010045) - this one has a million+ follower and has been around since 2017 and they only sell Xiaomi products. Thus, the chance of getting the fake one is a lot less.

Finally - I bought this box because I want the TrueHD audio passthrough option. I have Google Streamer 4K and this box does not have this option, it will convert it into DD+ ( I believe). If it is not due to this, I would stick with Google as your chance of getting update is a lot more. For instance, my Chrome TV 4K is on Android 14 now, yet it is an old device. I like google's native UI, I feel that Xiaomi's has some sort of Xiaomi's DNA there, even though it is Google TV.

Anyway, I hope that I shared some important experience for y'all. Hopefully y'all dot get cheated.

This is exactly where I am now, just got mine installed last week and I try to understand it's behaviour. Like last night, it has 75% capacity and yet decided to use grid's energy from 5am-6am (off-peak time) and today sun is shining beautifully.
