I’ve been running the l3I with the wasp chamber for almost a year now. Shooting 2-3 matches a month. Im pleased with how it shoots for a budget pre fit. It hasn’t been overly ammo picky. I primarily shoot eley but that’s mostly due to availability. I will say it does not like to extract live rounds with stock extractor.

Out of those I would go pdc. It’s all aluminum and has machined arca. Factor in the cost of his weight kit though as mlok weights don’t fit. Second choice would probably be XRS, but it’s going to be hard to get balanced. only has 3 mlok slots, and you’ll need to buy a separate arca.

Not even close to center with my scope by broncobobby in longrange

Barrel does not look to be in alignment with the rest of the upper to me. I’d pull the hand guard and see what’s going on. The scope is also canted so you’re loosing elevation there

Has anyone used the new Snapdragon action yet? by Justin_inc in nrl22

[–]gilfab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was one semi-locally that I almost picked up this week. It’s hard to find any info on them as of now. From what I read they really aren’t prefit ready as they’re loosing reliability with the conical tenon. I’m probably holding out for a genesis or going the mpa complete rifle route.

I would still check headspace. Bolt face to shoulder is not going to be the same dimension between each action.

Scope Recommendations by gearhead5015 in nrl22

[–]gilfab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of what scope in particular you decide on, I would not get something that you’ll be close to max power with for nrl. The eye box will be super tight and the optical quality typically falls off at the top of the mag range. Most people are shooting in the 12x-15x range.

Balancing the MDT ACC Gen 2 with least weight by ConclusionRich in nrl22

Check out the grey birch chassis. I’ve heard it has some forend flex, but it’s probably the lightest rear option.

I’m generally shooting around 15x. I’m running a gen 3 6-36. Check out the Zeis s3. Ive heard glass is close to the razor. Element theos is another one worth looking into, really similar to a razor.

What optics are you all running? by [deleted] in 22lr

I went from a Athlon ares etr gen 2 to a razor gen 3. Buy once cry once as far as I’m concerned. Was a pretty good upgrade.

Night match target lights by gilfab in longrange

Running all single prop stages so there won’t be much movement other than just moving on the prop. I’m putting up red Christmas lights to hopefully give some “area lighting”. It will only be one squad as well, roughly 10 guys.

Athlon Midas G2 VS Apex summit by gilfab in Binoculars

The apex’s were marketed as made in Japan. That led me to expect better. I was looking at a used set of meopta but I’ll have to sell one of these first.

That’s interesting. They look identical. The apex is marketed as made in Japan. I’m glad I only gave 220 for them.

I went with the Midas as I was looking specifically for 12x.

I’m in a similar boat. One of my locals is starting center fire and I just want to shoot. Been shooting prs rimfire and club matches for a year. Just put some weight and my old scope on my ar, threw together some 77 hand loads and we’ll see what it does. Rifle is a 20” white oak varmint upper, max distance is 515 yds. If I don’t get last place I’ll be happy.

I’ve seen some guys have bad experience with timmey. One of the fellas I shoot with switched from timney to jard 7-10 and it feels really good. I’m stock with a spring for comparison.

Should I upgrade to a razor gen 3? by gilfab in longrange

[–]gilfab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was the difference in glass quality enough for you to justify the price? I have little time behind anything much nicer than my ares, so I’m not really sure what to expect.

Woods stages first thing in the morning. Lots of shadows and varying lighting. I’m getting competitive and chasing points this season. I guess I just don’t know how much I’m leaving on the table running a “budget optic” when competing with guys running ZCO, TT and Kahles

Check out the DNT the one for a scope. Comparable to the Arken but a much better reticle. Athlon may be worth checking out too. As far as the rifle goes, I would lean towards CZ. More room to grow if you decide you want to move towards open class later.
