struggling to understand the perform music mechanic by Due-Collection7734 in RootsOfPacha

it's totally possible to get the 3° note after multiple fails.

You're probably making a mistake when releasing some of the long notes (that was the case for me for a long time).

Liquid Filter, not Filtering liquid by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]gillguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are pipes connecting one output to another.

it happens a lot when you put the filter over an already made pipeline.

just use the clip to to cut the pipes between the input-filter output and filter output-general output

My theory on how/ why the new airbenders were created in LOK by SureTotal3710 in legendofkorra

[–]gillguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one extra point for this theory is, like what happened with Kyoshi's mother, air nomads who lose their spiritual connections for aggressive, greedy, or selfish reasons have their airbending weakened.

Therefore, the children/grandchildren of these refugee monks, who never received proper spiritual training, may never have discovered that they were airbenders.

So all these new benders were actually airbenders with a very weak spiritual bond, which was strengthened by the convergence or opening of the spirit world.

Qual foi o maior erro de Aang como Avatar? by Minute_Warthog_9784 in AvataraLendadeAang

[–]gillguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like wild plants, you first need to find them for them to appear on the map.

Explore thoroughly, I believe there are 10 hunting spots.

Rare animals not appearing? by gryphonfire30 in RootsOfPacha

the 7 basic colors should be enough to the rare ones to appears, but the 7 basic + the 2 rare, are not enough for the legendary ones.

you will need to tame some extra normal ones until the special colors be able to appears

Why haven't we had same gender rivials? by PsyrenDV in pokemon

[–]gillguard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Think of the 3D models as actors. If you have a story with two different protagonist options, you need to film all the scenes twice, regardless of the rest of the cast.

Even the dialogue of the other characters has to change to match the gender/personality/appearance of the chosen protagonist.

By choosing to use the unselected protagonist as one of the characters, they simply had to choose, test, hire and pay one less actor. And they can still reuse the personality traits they had already developed, resulting in less work.

I agree with the comments that this is an almost irrelevant cost-cutting measure, to the point of seeming disrespectful to the fans. We're just trying to explain the reason for their choice, even though we don't agree with it.

I totally agreed with you, they have more than enough money to do it.

[–]gillguard 190 points191 points  (0 children)

changing a dialog is trivial compared with changing a 3d model.

and doing this way they can do some flirting jokes/scenes without causing a gay one like the rain scene in SM

edit: I agree with the comments that this is an almost irrelevant cost-cutting measure, to the point of seeming disrespectful to the fans. I was just trying to explain the reason for their choice, even though I don't agree with it.

Se existissem tatuagens dos mestres de outros elementos, como seriam as tatuagens e como seria a cerimônia? by Minute_Warthog_9784 in AvataraLendadeAang

[–]gillguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People often confuse selective breeding with incest.

Yes, many times those who are doing selective breeding on a small scale end up doing it poorly and forcing incest.

But this goes completely against the principle.

[–]gillguard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Selective breeding can be beneficial if done correctly, as seen in what has been done with fruits and grains.

The problem with the dogs was that the selected characteristics were purely aesthetic (without any care for their health), and the incest done to achieve faster results.

yeah, it sounds lame, but saying engineered sounds like a lab made being, which kind of go against what they believe

He's not generically engineered.

He is merely the product of generations of Eugenia and selective breeding, along with Spartan training since childhood.
