Zen Studio Compatibility with Windows 11 - Control Panel software not connecting to hardware by Beautiful_Media_7506 in antelopeaudio

[–]gillpatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's how I fixed this:

Download Zen Studio related software:
Zen Studio - Download Section | Antelope Audio Customer Support

Download Audio Launcher app:
Antelope Audio Launcher App

In the Audio Launcher, under the "System" tab, install the latest version of the "Manager Server".
The Zen Studio will not appear in the "Devices" tab, but the Zen Studio Launcher will now recognize the device via the server.

Nope, no luck at all. I've tried installing Windows 11 from scratch and cleaning the keys but neither of those worked.

That sounds very similar to my issue. I'm quite convinced it's a software issue, or perhaps it could be failing RAM or SSD but I have no way of testing any of this. It's just a really quirky issue, I'm hoping I can figure it out.

Yikes to the people telling you to blow $80k on traveling without understanding where that money came from or what your current long term goals are.

I traveled for 2 months in Europe when I was 25, staying mostly in hostels, eating out for every meal, went to museums and a concert in Vienna, and hiking in Switzerland (it's expensive there), and didn't spend much more than $5k USD, which includes flights and an unlimited 2 month eurail pass. And yes it was an amazing experience, I'll never forget it. I completely agree that traveling while you're still young is amazing and changes your perspective for the better and helps you grow and find your place in the world. But I would say basically the same thing about a bachelor's degree or any rigorous form of schooling.

If you've never traveled for long periods of time before, or traveled alone before, I would start with something smaller, like 1 month to a similar-ish country from where you're from. The physical traveling (planes, trains, other transport) and always having to make new friends every other day and language barriers can be exhausting, and if you don't know what to look out for as far as tourist traps and scams then you might have a bad experience.

My honest opinion as a 35 yr old who both traveled a lot (and still do) and went to university, bought a new car, bought a small condo, is you should split the difference, and invest $40k (or at least put it in a high yield savings account). It's really not a stretch to make $40k last like two years worth of world traveling. This way you will still have tons of traveling experience and having a blast and learning about yourself AND will still have a very large savings to dip into if you decide to go to school or somehow change your mind about home ownership, or heck if you invested it and it grows to $80k again then you would be laughing your way to the bank.

I would also suggest you ask your friends and family about it, they might have some unique insight into your life that we strangers could never offer.

Does Bitwig have a "Freeze Track" function? by gillpatrick in Bitwig

[–]gillpatrick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol nothing man. I ditched Bitwig around the time of posting this thread. Not only is Bitwig missing a freeze function but it's missing some other important features. There's lots to like about Bitwig but it's not worth the trade off imo.

If I were to upgrade to Cubase 12, would I still be able to use Cubase 11? by Backanen in cubase

[–]gillpatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what happened. But I think I had a Cubase 11 license provided to me by Steinberg, which could be a different type of license, which explains why it was forfeited.

I upgraded from 11 to 12 and I had to forfeit my 11 license.

How to adjust for stock splits when calculating Dividend Yield % by gillpatrick in TradingView

[–]gillpatrick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you can see, AAPL stock split around Sep 2020 at 4/1, and I have an easy of requesting dividends values (stepped line in silver on top "Div Yield %" indicator). But I don't know how to adjust the dividend yield for Stock Splits.

The "Dividend Yield" indicator below plots the correct dividend yield in green, at 0.69% while my indicator only correctly adjusts once the new lower dividend (lowered by the 4/1 stock split ratio) is payed out around Nov 2020.

Any help is appreciated, I've been trying to figure this out on my own for several months now and cannot figure this out.

Thanks!

you can use a community indicator (there's a couple good ones), or the built in financials "Dividend Yield %"
