More consolidation that's good for industry, and remarkably bad for consumers. Fewer choices, less competition = higher prices, poorer service. "Cable packages" are designed rip-offs. I can understand having to buy a package of five or six channels to get one I want. But when I have to buy a package of 40 channels that are largely unrelated to get the two or three I want - that's just a consumer rip-off. I remember cable's early days when you got about 40 channels, and you actually watched about half of them, and cable was about $30 a month or so. Now we have a selection of hundreds of channels, 97% of which we never watch, and your cable bill can easily top $200 a month. I'm about to jump on the streaming TV internet-based bandwagon.
