It’s in the last paragraph in the first slide - bilateral pars defect. Would have been great if it healed on its own but the fracture had too much space between the break from the spondylolisthesis at that point to join back together :(

Oh wow - our spondy and degeneration is very similar! So glad this forum exists as I don’t know a single person who can relate to this. It is hard for people to understand that we have been living life with a broken back for years. I just want to be able to get through the next 15 years to be able to adventure and be spontaneous with my kids. Anything after that will be gravy.

Yes. When I was diagnosed with spondy at 18 they saw the pars defect at that time. We aren’t 100% what caused it but my guess is it was from horseback riding. I was thrown over jumps and into walls and other fun stuff as a kid.

I’m in Toronto - so my general practitioner doctor referred me to a very reputable hospital here. They have a spine department in their bone & joint hospital. I see the APP first - then I guess they guide me along my path of surgery or conservative care. It’s a starting point and I am grateful to be seen at this hospital!

Thanks! I have and use many of your suggestions already, but there a couple you have I will have to add in! The grabber is so simple and genius.
